Hello all!
So I am usually more the quiet type here and haven’t yet shared my glorious Subaru too much yet here with the community. But I figured I’d finally change that and add to this wonderful gallery. My story:
Got this fine beast just under 2 years ago. After one year, I had the misfortune of the hearing the wonderful sound of a rod knock / spun bearing coming from under the hood. Now I don’t make lots of money at my job and this was going to be a tough thing to get fixed. I didn’t have any cash saved up really what so ever. But I tried to be positive and find a way to make it happen. So, I sold a lot of stuff I had held on to for years, most of which were very hard to part with personal items, things I wanted to pass to my children some day if I ever had any. This unfortunate car problem did have some good to it though as my brother had given to me, before this happened, a VF39 and a bigger intercooler to someday put on my car. So, I looked around and found a new, EJ25 shortblock for the same price as a 2.0 and opted to go the hybrid route, since it really wasn’t going to cost me much more than the 2.0.
I had the 2.5 installed along with the intercooler and VF39. I already had the 255 fuel pump done a bit ago and the tech I had install everything worked on the injectors for me. After that, I made the 4.5 hour drive down to CT and had Chris at EFI tune her up. Unfortunately, the injectors were not cooperating and I was only able to net 262 whp / 285 wtq and 16.9 Lbs of boost. Chris told me my car should be running 19 lbs no problem and was sure he could get 30 more ponies out of it if I got new injectors.
So, I got home, and hatched a plan to start saving and get what needed to be done, done. This was all in the summer might I tell you.
Late Oct I went into the walk in clinic with a cough I had been having for 6 weeks, non stop. I expected it to be asthma or bronchitis but left there with the discovery of a large mass in my chest. 2 weeks later I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lyphoma. So, I have been going through Chemotherapy for the last 3 months and still have more to go. But through all of this, I have found myself here a lot, reading, enjoying all the great subies here and dreaming of course! A much as there is some bickering at times and crazy arguments (some of which are quite entertaining!) New England Subarus and nasioc has helped keep me going through all of this and for that, I am thankful to you all.
So now, here is my pride and joy. There are things I plan on doing to her after all of this craziness is done in my life. Not sure how yet, but I’ll make it happen!
