Any one have them/ used them? if any one has how are there experences with them compared to just cutting the stock bump stops in half. I'm still up in the air with coilovers. It doesn't help i have a brand new set of tein springs staring right at me. lol

There really isn't any difference between a trimmed stock bump stop and the Prodrive. I've been riding on RCE yellow springs and stock bump stops. Once in a while you notice them hit the bump stops, but they aren't always riding on them. Let me guess, you have S-techs?

There really isn't much to mess up down there. With H-techs there isn't nearly as much of an issue as there is if you were to have more of a drop. You can most likely get by without trimming anything.

the prodrive and rce bump stops are identical. and aside from the obvious difference in length, the stockers are "softer" than either the prodrive or rce bump stops. the stockers also have progressive hardness. so from what i hear, it's not a big deal leaving the stock bumps stops in when you convert over to shorter/stiffer springs. it's like mdungelman said above, you might hit the stops every once in a while, but it's no big deal, and no harm done. especially if this is your dd, don't worry about it. just understand that cutting the stock bump stop in half will yield a product that is not as strong as a prodrive or rce bump stop even though it is identical in length. so if you feel the need to cut the stock bump stop, leave yourself with a little more than half.

sorry to bump this really old thread but if the oem bumpstop is indeed progressive, with softer section up top and harder on the bottom. If you cut off the softer top, and leave the harder lower portion and re-attach that to the strut, then isn't sort of like having the harder prodrive or rce bumpstop that was mentioned?

from what I read thats pretty much it. if you run the car as a daily, but still want to lower it, you can just nip off the end of the bump stop. keeping them stock length you may hit them one in a while, but it wont hurt anything. you can trim them down a little if you're concerned about hitting the stops one in a while. the aftermarket ones are about the size of the "modified stock". but the stock stops are softer. its preference, I guess.

I have a set of Prodrive bumpstops in my toolbox. They are a harder durometer than stock, and obviously shorter.
I didn't use them with Prodrive springs, or the Epic springs I'm on now. No problems so far.
