About The Car:

2000 2.5 RS w/ 2002 WRX Swap...

I bought this car back in September 2009 from one of the mechanics that used to work for Vermont Sports Car in Colchester, VT. When I bought the car the suspension and the engine were already put in and wired up, and the front/rear seats were in it along with the door cards. All of which were professionally installed by Vermont Sports Car (I didn't have it done of course, this was before I bought it), and completely stock otherwise. It did have a slight boost issue which I quickly cleared up by clearing out debris in the vac. lines. The first day of bringing the car home I did a tear down of both my old 1999 Impreza RS and this current car. Took me 5 days to swap parts to the new car and to wire things in properly (this build can be found here too (http://www.newenglandsubarus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7398)). I hope everyone enjoys the build and I'd like to hear comments back on it!

All done on day 1:

-front wheels off and front ends
-hood swapped
-wiring removed from white and silver car but the subwoofer stuff out of silver car
-stereos/center console's removed
-1/2 underglow removed
-batteries out
-front speakers switched (not wired in yet)

Got a lot done for wiring... what the white car looks like on the inside (don't mind the seats, just put them inside so no animals chew on them..

-Harness eye bolts moved over to white car
-Gauges wired in
-DVD player wired in
-wires run for woofer
-seats removed to be switched
-removed the wiring for fog lights on the upper bumper (not factory).
-Rear speakers removed and switched...

Update day 3!

What was accomplished:
-seats swapped into white car
-sound system 98% swapped (need to find out how to fit the woofer with a full sized spare...)
-interior cleaned and put back together in white car
-fog covers painted silver and grille for silver car
-front lip and mud flaps removed
-wheels swapped
-white wing removed
-rewired more of the dash to help straighten things out.

Happy to say it just did a 2 day round trip of 1600+ miles without issues... car is super sound, but needs a good cleaning and some maintainence (oil change and some other minor stuff). All and all a good test for it, now it's time to get down to building!

The checkers is still under the fabric, it was much easier to install that way and I didn't have to deal with putting new foam on too. All in all it came out really good. I got the fabric from Andy (aka RIPT on here) who is up at UVM for college. I'm also hoping to pick up a shift boot and e-break boot from him too in black suede with red stitching.

I need to change out some piping, move some of them around and build an airbox/heat shield to make it look cleaner and to make the hood vent useful :)

Ok here is what most everyone wants to see, the build of the 22B kit. Many days down the road, and currently still working on having the custom built wide track made and having some minor issues fixed. Hopefully in the next few days it'll be completely finished.

Here it goes, I had the kit done at Auto Creek in Vergennes. Thanks to Steve and his body shop guy I couldn't ask for a more amazing looking car.

Yeah, it's not completely done body wise at the moment... still needs some tweaking like the wide track and mud flaps in the front so I can protect the paint a little more. Also I really want the burnup c/f front lip and want to make the little bolts in the front disappear too... not sure why it was put on that way, but it works for now I guess... Still on the search for the 22B wing too once I get some money recouped...

Lol, I was waiting for someone to say something. I'm sticking with it, kinda my trademark in a way, but I definitely am switching to 22B vents though, may even switch the hood out and pick up a dry carbon one with the massive WRC 22B vents just like the real one... we'll see what happens, but that's way later on down the road...

Yeah, I've sent like 15 messages at least and haven't heard from them on RS25 and directly (kinda mixed and matched). Last time I checked the thread about those wings (quite a while back) they still hadn't gotten the wings in yet. So I'm not sure what's going on there, idk if you have a connection in there somewhere, but I haven't had any luck at all.

I got some redline struts at the house, just haven't had the car back long enough to get anything done yet except cleaning it... speaking of which I still need to clean the trunk :unamused:

BTW Mike you know you are about 2"s WIDER than the 22B right? It's WRC spec not 22B spec. :) I can't wait to get my kit and then have to deal with the fab work on the rears.

Yup I did know... total of 3.5 inches wider or so on each side from stock RS :) Also reason why I want the WRC cf hood for it :devil:

Sun roof drain must of got plugged which leaked into the car and shorted out some of the electrical... and my AC wasn't working period.

I do know of someone looking to sell his GC with a 2.5L WRX swap in it... labo blue for 10 grand ;)

Naw, just saying if anyone is looking for a GC with a swap... it's never seen winter and it does have some mods on it. No rust or dents, the car is actually owned by the body shop guy who did the wide body on my car :)

Talked with perrin and the pipes that are coming will just bolt up since they did test fit it on a GC. So hopefully no modification there.

OHHHHH!!! My bad :e ... I have a stock set of piping laying around and I have aftermarket too (jna up pipe, hks down pipe). I was thinking of keeping one set just in case i needed to go back to stock setup or if I thought the 30R was too much overkill. We'll see what happens, but there will be stuff for sale once I get this done.

Ok, time for another update of the last week or 2... lots of progress in a way, been crazy busy with work and hanging out with some awesome friends, but now it's time to get this **** done! :cool:

First up I finished making a hole for that big turbo....

For those who know me I love proving people wrong when I get a challenge... well, here's a good one... a 30R in a 2.5RS using a Perrin 2002 wrx 30R rotated turbo kit.... no need for modification with pics to prove it... (p.s. I would highly suggest heat wrapping the piss out of everything! Really tight but clears).

No 6 speed right now... I have to do it in stages. I'm just happy to have something reliable to drive that I don't have to worry about snapping axles.

I wont grenade the 2.0 because it'll kill the clutch before that ever happens. I'm not running high boost because I need to break in the new turbo and make the car last anyways. Just something fun to run in the car for now...

It should be going in your STi and your VF39 and TMIC should go in the 2.0

Here's another update, working on trying to get things to fit right and trying to rout things to new places... takes a lot of figuring :bonk:

Ran into a road block and found out that the piping I have isn't going to work after getting it powder coated, so that means time to cut, weld, and custom fit some more and then get it recoated soon! Kinda was expected and wasn't using my head on that one, all well... and I will need to get a blow thru boost tube too since running a MAF isn't going to happen...

Mike, might I suggest to you the P&L power steering braided line?! It's much cleaner lookig than the hardline that comes stock on our cars and is easier to hide ;)

RCKSTR seen the car in person too recently

The car is doing fine everything is together. Got tuned by Chris at EFI
she throws down 315whp at 20PSI boost. They were thinking about doing more but thought since the motor isn't fully built that it would risk blowing rods through the motor so they kept it at 20 psi and kinda took it easy.
The tranny is doing wonderful since some seem to have concerns over it.

He goes back and forth on whether he wants to build a rock solid 2.5 or a hybrid motor but which ever is next on the list so he can go back. After the built engine i think hes been told it can shoot to as high as 400HP no problem.
