$58 at Subaru, $42 through genuine Subaru...i just hope they are all the same. the only part number i can find is the one from that 2.5rs thread

I believe they are the same. The only differences should be on the older style 1.8L 5 speeds.
I've looked into those u-joints too, swapped tranny before having to fix it though, you should be all set with all new everything. It's gonna shift NICE!

i put together the rear end in my gf's dads 56 last night so we can get it off the lift, i plan on doing this week or this weekend, im spoiled and hate working on cars laying on my back. but i got everything i need now, front and rear kartboys, that joint for the linkage, and the spring that i dont have haha. now i just need a short shifter that fits. ive bought 2 now that dont fit....
if anyone wants a kartboy knock off shifter or a B&M knock off just let me know...my set up is big ball, skinny shaft(dirty sounding haha)...and the two shifters are small ball skinny shaft and small ball big shaft...

Ever get this fixed? From the video i couldnt tell if the slop was in the Universal or at the part that goes into the trans. There are two rollpins at that point that could have a lot of slop too with mileage.

Good luck man, be sure to post up the correct part numbers/prices so others can benefit from the seemingly large amount of time and effort you've put in!

haha i put entirely too much effort into it, all i really had to do is call the dealer hahaha.
the correct part number is 35047AC010...there's also two bushings you need to buy
holy poop what a difference, the shift pattern is like 1/8th of what it was, i cant believe i drove around with it as sloppy as it was. its no short shifting super car by all means but it feels great
