hey everyone, trying to get a cat pipe welded together for a customish setup. So i go to one place today that said over the phone that they could make this pipe for me....just to get there and have them say they don't have a pipe bender...so all discouraged I go to a hop I went to about a week ago had quoted me $170 to fab and install the pipe. Drop my car off, go home with my friend and wait....they call me up and tell me they now need $300!!!! WTF?!!? Keep in mind I am supplying the cat, the o2 bung and the flanges...so all they are giving me is pipes and welds.

he explained the reason for the added cost is because it is time consuming to drill an o2 bung....bull**** maybe 30 seconds to drill a hole...so I took my car back mind you I lost about $15 on a box o joe I bought for everyone at dunkin so I leave defeated...no progress at all....bullocks.

So I ask you is there any shop that you know of that does quality work and would charge only $50-$80 like it should cost...I mean it is literally 5 or 6 welds and drilling one ****ing hole and making a wire longer for the front o2 sensor....seriously I am about to get a tig welder and do this myself!!

Bring what you want up here to ship it up here. We can get it done in NH and maybe even get somewhere ti do a run of them. I'm thinking Demetry is someone to be gotten ahold on this matter.

I've talked to them about being vendors on here. They have no interest :dunno:

my uncle is going to teach me a bit about welding and I might be looking to find a fabricator to mass produce a bunch of these...I might be interested in becoming a vendor here and maybe on rs25 as well, I want to make this header adapter cat pipe and also some form of clip to hold the RS carpet in place....you know what I mean lol.

send me a pm w/ the details to become a vendor!!

I never saw an email come through from you, and don't recall any messages either. What you are asking for is pretty straightfoward, $300 is crazy you did the right thing picking up your car and leaving, especially with the bait and switch.

I know we are not vendors on here, but we are not known for leaving people hanging :)

That's not exactly how I put it :P What I basically said was that the traffic and userbase was too low to justify being a vendor on a regional site, unless you are selling parts. That being said, I am still considering it more to support the community than anything else.

Im all for DIY, but a TIG welder will probably cost you more than $80 though :P

yeah man you are right, including supplies a mask etc it would come out to way over that, but my uncle has everything I need so it is just a matter of time until he has a free day to do it.

As for fabrication of these, I am going to be looking for someone to do it once I get my pipe done, anyone know of any places that could make some stainless steel pipes as mine will be a mix of mild steel and stainless. Kind of like the prototype lol

Just waiting on a good day for him to weld it together for me. I am going to try and keep the wrx header untouched so it could be re-used or I might make a run of these if it all pans out...we shall see. Either way I am sure it will be a good piece once it is done and together.

Just had to get some odds and ends, some adapters...reducers and some flanges for $2 each :D same guy I got the flanges from gave me a # to a fabricator that can help me out...so I think i might be in biz here.
