So i just bought an '07 WRX wagon and i want to put a few performance parts on it. I use the car for daily driving as of now (until i get my company car) so i want to keep the mods reasonable. Any suggestion? Thanks!

Maybe a turbo back exhaust.... or axle back for a little raspy sound.... Accessport....spt intake for a little turbo spool sound...it all depends what you like and want...

Show up to a meet an listen to the various cars. Bum some rides for handling tests. Then you can make you mind up. Like my car has an intake and tons of suspension parts.
I have Prodrive exhaust.
Terry has Turbo XS exhaust.
We both have slotted rotors.
George has STI .. 6 speed, more power too.
Vlad has some kind of Exhaust.
We are all modded a little different.

This is my opinion as the first 5 upgrades you should get for a WRX.
Now, this is just based on what I think is important with the car. I know everyones outlooks and wants are different, but there are a few basic things all WRXs need for improvement out of the factory.
1. Wheels/Tires
2. Front and Rear Sway (Rear first if you cant do both)
3. Acessport
4. Catback Exhaust (Full Turboback preferred if ya got the loot)
5. Short Shifter with Bushings
Remember, power is nice to have, but if you dont have a car that can handle the speed, then theres no sense in having it. I first got STi springs for my car, and noticed a huge difference, but still a lot of that infamous body roll. I then got a turboback, AP, and protune. That was sick, but I still had to fix the body roll. I then got front and rear perrin sways, and those have been the best mod I have done so far. I then went for rims and tires, and those also made a huge difference. There are other assorted things on my car as well, such as brembos, but those only came cause I got a KILLER deal on them, and planned on autocrossing the car.
If you can hook us up with what youd like to improve first, we are more than willing to help!

Hi guys,
Thanks for the speedy responses...this forum is awesome!
As far as what i would like to do/ can afford, I would like to make the car a bit quicker and have a sweet sound to her. My buddy recently totaled his WRX and is offering me his suspenison which would lower the car a bit which im not sure i want to do b/c of the awesome pot holes/ frost heaved roads of new england. Some sort of stabilizer bar in definitely in the picture. I have an extended warranty on the car which kind of limits what i can do. SPT parts are covered so i would like to stay with SPT unless another part is way better than what SPT makes. I had been thinking of a chip, exhaust and an intake to start off. It will be a slow process but i'll get there. As soon as i get a company car a new turbo might be in order but for now a few more ponies and a nice sound will suffice and not break my wallet.

check out the pics of my wagon... I work in Boston and never bottom out and i'm slammed. It's all about the suspension parts you buy.... if you slam your stock struts, then yes you will bottom out on bumps at speed. If you invest in a nice set of coilovers you won't have any issues.
I've basically maxed out my suspension... no issues here other them some occasional wheel rub on 495.

btw, that suspension is crucial racing springs on kyb agx struts

... and if you're scared witless of driving lowered in NE, skidplates really aren't that expensive. The cost of a cheap set of struts will cover high quality front and rear plates. Primitive, RumbleSoft, Fastline, and so on.

what suspension doesn't have problems with 495.
although, i got a little scared the other day when i drove it, and parts were actually paved... not just filling holes, actually paved.

oh c'mon. you guys dont like the amazingly great bumps every 10 feet on 495? Geez. They actually put a stop sign at the end of the on-ramp from 95 to 495 S...watch out for that.

ok guys, so i think i finally figured out what to do for my first mods to the waggy. I am going to trade the WRX in for a maserati. Ok so all fantasies aside....Im going to go for some sway bars and a cobb accessport. Doylefish was kind enough to donate some new HID's to my project (for a small fee of course). Thoughts?

Good choice with the sways. They make it a new car. Maybe sometime soon I can hook you up with some springs and shocks. I want to upgrade to coilovers.

i was going to try and get him some springs and struts, but i couldn't make the car look too stripped for insurance, it's already missing brake lines lol

is the check written yet? If so then go hog wild. It was your car. Ask to buy it back. Say it has a lot of sentimental value and you think you might be able to make it into a demolition derby car!!!

Excellent idea. I'd do the endlinks while the sway bars are out, too... those plastic stockers are garbage.

terry--not sure if i'm selling anything yet, if i get another wrx i'll put all my parts back on, so i'm waiting another week or so, basically till i get my check
nate--i'd buy back from insurance, but i don't want to deal with the hassle right now, i will talk to them on monday though and see what they would offer to sell it to me for, but honestly, unless it was like for $2000 it wouldn't be worth it
