I could certainly go. I went once last year to spectate, and it was more fun than I thought. Drag racing isn't my thing personally...and I hate the idea of beating my clutch more than once a day. But, I'm sure someone here could convince me to give 'er a go. :lol:

I think we would have issues there as well... I have been told they have "guidelines" for how fast a street car can go without being property set up with safety devices. I can't fathom for one second disintegrating my STi against a 4 foot thick concrete wall.. U would need a happy meal pail and a body bag....

4 months? Remember this is New England. More like 5-6 months... Justin keep in mind this is a VERY slick track and unless they redo the track or at least maintain it better in 2010 you'll slip like Fing crazy! Randy said he was watching my front tires slipping the whole like first 60' on my last run this summer. I'm down either way. IF I can get the wagon running by then I"m totally gonna run her. I want to see 12's or at least mid 13's considering the condition of the track and me getting used to the car.

NHMS has slow days for beginners, they add coned chicanes at the higher speed areas to make you slow down. Otherwise you can easily do 100+ in the front stretch. Which is what they dont want.

ditto... i stupidly did 13.2@102MPH with no tune on 103 octane, later my turbo went boom. Launching at 6000RPM. Needless to say the turbo was less than happy.

Oh and make sure your car passes TECH!!! you must have your batterie held down, all your lugnuts, seat belt works, car does not start without the clutch, good tire tread, and YOU must pass tech aswell... pants can not have any holes in them. if they do you must either do what I did (patch them with duck tape :palm:), swap pants with someone, or get another pair of pants from the race supply trailor.

Last Friday I ran a 13.6 @ 103 :palm: last year I ran a 13.0 and both times I had traction issues :lol: gonna change up tires for this event. The ones on my 18s are too hard for the track IMO

Last Friday I ran a 13.6 @ 103 :palm: last year I ran a 13.0 and both times I had traction issues :lol: gonna change up tires for this event. The ones on my 18s are too hard for the track IMO

Yeah he ran 12.6@121 with stock injectors and 4psi. We are tunning the car this summer with the 1600CC injectors, and hope to break into the 10's.

ok, so now i have multiple misfires. not strong enough to get a CEL, but it idles like poo. I have some one step colder NGK iridium plugs coming, and the forge unos MBC on the way. hopefully, i just cooked the plugs. we'll know by friday. so, i'm thinking one of 5 things.....

1: smoked plugs from running more than 100hp from stock.
2: clogged, crap injectors
3: smoked turbo (lots of oil in intake tracts)
4: Blown rings, causing lower compression, and blow by forcing oil through pcv
into intake (on start up, it cranks like there are no plugs in it)
5: Stuck PCV valve causing excessive oil in intake/rough idle

The PCV system is black magic to me. I've never studied it enough to understand it fully. I'll be troubleshooting it over the next few days. ugh!

BTW, WTF tools do you use to get the plugs out?! Seriously, there is NO room on the driver's side of a WRX to get a knuckle on the end of an extension down there. :unamused: It took me 45 minutes to do the drivers side, and 20 to do the passenger's side. I cursed literally everybody that has ever owned, worked on or manufactured a Subaru yesterday :lol:

I have a special tool. :lol: it's a 3/8 drive double swivel spark plug socket. start to finish probably 20 minutes or less i think. (both sides)

As far as the oil in the IC/etc, I get the feeling these cars love to have buildup due to the PCV system. When I pulled the stock IC off there was a pretty decent film in the IC & the coupler, and having redone my PCV lines a bit today, I noticed there's already a nice film (or at least condensation) building up in it.
PCV systems are teh suck, and AOS's or Catch Cans seem to be a must on these cars. Now if only someone would make an AFFORDABLE AOS (seriously, it's a small piece of machined metal, it doesn't cost $200+ to make).
Also, just to add, with all the oil buildup in my stock IC, on my last 2 oil changes, the level on my dipstick went down no more then 2 or 3 mm from the top dot on the dipstick, hence the reason I'm leaning towards it being normal for there to be a film buildup.

And in closing, I just want to add that I hate you all for having weekends off rofl :D
