Sorry that Autoxing is not your thing vlad, but I enjoy it thoroughly. If I had a car for rally, i would love to get into it. But, I can drive my car to and from the track and everyday in between, thats why autox is the thing for me now. You should give it a go next time cause youll have a ton of fun! Which does remind me, whats up with the suspension problem? Have you gotten it addressed yet?

Suspension is not fixed, I told you I might have to sell the car, so why fix it now. If I don't have to sell, then I'll definitely fix suspension and do auto-x.

I'm certainly a strong advocate for stage rally, rallycross(both US and European versions), TSD, Japanese gravel gymkana, etc. However, of the 5 cars up for votes this month, I know of none that have seen any timed, non-tarmac competition. As such, I voted for the one car that is modded for legitimate, legal racing, despite that all 5 are gorgeously modded and have solid drivers. "I picked such and such turbo specifically for quick spool under racing conditons" goes a lot further with me than anything else I've seen for the August ROTM.

I have to say though, Vlad, your car looks *excellent* in black/mud... more pics.:)

I just need a beater for rally. I would love to find an 02 somewhere that has a blown motor and tranny or someting. Buy it super cheap then have two rides. One would be pure tarmac and one pure not road.

I hear that, my dad has been a full time mechanic since he was 14 years old, and has built many a race car in his time. After I got the Sube and we started talking about them, I took him to an Autocross. I think he is now finally starting to get interested in the form of subaru racing and already has his eyes out for some RS's. He likes haley's car, but we cant justify buying it for her asking price. We do want to build an all out racing Subaru, for all types of racing fun. Anyone has any suggestions, although I do have a good amount of Suby knowledge, its still nothing compared to VP and LB. Any suggestions you guys might have for building a decent rig, let me know!

Buy a good VW shell for $1000 and throw Subaru engine in there. My friend just sold a Corrado shell for $900 I think, no rust at all.

Does you dad like Ford GT40. There is a body sitting on teh side of the road on some guys trailer. I will stop and llook closer on the way home. Seen it about 10 times there.

I would think your dads best bet for an Autocross car that will do really well is something like my Sentra. They are cheap and easy to find. Very quick in those course and easy to build. Independent rear suspension. Lightweight right out of the box. If I put some 15" or larger sticky tires on my Sentra it would probably make my Subaru look silly as for times. Not to mention it would have such a low classing and modifier.

That is one of those things I hate to do with mine. I want to keep modding my car but it is coming to the point where I wont be able to compete in STX and from what I understand that is really the only category that Subarus do much of anything in.

Yeah im in FSP, everyone in the class has R compound tires. It sucks, FSP is aftermarket flywheel + Street Prepped. I guess that was a bad decision, even though i have a blast getting last place in the class at all the events. Its fun to know that my car can outhandle a 400 hp GTO though :)
