Brand Name Vinyls ie: APC, Brembo, TireRack...List goes on, Instead of dumping an insane amount of money in your car, badge the hell outa it with stickers to make it look fast! Might get some more drag on the car but at 1.5hp each sticker and $3.50 each, your looking at plus 171.428 Horsepower, which will surely overcome the drag.

Brian, you cannot loose if you buy $60 STi springs and install them for free. That's what I did and change was evident. Jeff is parting out his car, pay him few dollars, give him your springs, put in his STi. Will be best mod ever.

I dont think theyre STi springs. They say stock WRX springs. for 400 bucks. Id try to get a used axleback ($150), used STi springs ($60-$100), intake ($100 from Morbid http://www.seacoastsubarus.com/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=340)

and maybe even his ALK kit. ($100) Ill help you do all the installing at the shop, for a 12 pack.

If you dont want an intake, its really not needed man. I have a decent amount of **** done to my car, and there is still no need for an intake. You can remove the silencer for 10 minutes work and get the same sound you will from an intake, and prolly pretty close in HP gains for the no mods that are done to your car.

If you want exhaust sound, start from the back of the car and work your way up. Getting something used is not bad, its actually quite smart. Just dont get one with more than like 10k on it. Theyre broken in, might have a little wear, but nothing some WD40 and buffing cant take care of. As far as the STi springs go, get them. They are one of the best mods i did to my car, along with the sway bars. If youre going to be Auto Xing the next time, id go with springs, sways, and tires.

There's no way in hell I can afford to get tires by AutoX time. I might be able to borrow a friends. Or rather "rent" them.

I was looking at getting a Kartboy short shifter about 175 brand new.

I'm heavily tempted to go swaybars + pinks. I was pissed when I saw that Nate has posted about the Sways and 2mprzya had posted before me.

175 is rediculously too much for the SS. it should be 130 shipped tops brand new. And thats with the Bushings. You can get one for 100 shipped directly from kartboy.com without bushings, or 130 with bushings shipped.

Try to find USDM STi springs on nasioc classifieds, i saw some yesterday, and brand new sways with mounts. Even used isnt bad. Check in with Jeff for his cuscos. Best mod you can do, better than my power mods that i did! VLad did say you could throw on the BBS for the Auto X, so go with suspension!

nasioc classified are your friend! i got my whole tbe setup for $666 bucks with shipping and everything, with most of it being all new.

Sorry, 175 was with bushings and a shifter knob. Straight off Kartboy.

I placed a PM for some info for some springs from an 04 STi, thats being oparted out on NASIOC. Will advise on Milage. I asked for pics to. I might have an in on some Cusco sways. and some endlinks as well.

Might be a modding weekend =D

Now I'm off to go buy a skimboard.... Time to go eat some sand. ~ok~

Murphy2012

Dont buy a skimboard, thats prolly 40 bucks you could spend on something sweet for the car!

used catless dp 100-150
stage 2 easyecu map free
sti axel back 100
or pick up a used vf-39 around 400

Murphy2012
07-17-2007, 05:54 PM
A used vf 39 will require a better dp, new intercooler, and modded injectors, plus either an openecu tune or protune.

Im tellin ya, youll enjoy springs/sways first. if you had an sti id say go power first, but you have a TR, which is what I started with.

Handling and braking before power, I say. Fast is fun, but power is nothing without being able to slow or carve up twisties. The stock WRX is a dynamo(for the $) but is easily capable of exceeding the limits of stock suspension(especially tires) and brakes with the factory powerplant.

ii wish my car was turbo...just thinking of the possibilities... :)

so much more money that could be spent on go fast parts.

Bah, I.m getting a skimboard wether you like it or not :P

Granted, The one I just got is inadequate, so I need to go and get another.

But I'm still gonna mod the car, don't worry.

+1 million I agree completely. The cars come stock fairly quick. But springs/sways first. Tires suck as well.

07-18-2007, 02:24 PM
Well i bought Nates Sway bar :) Now just have to install it...No links, so called subaru for price LOL, NEVER GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!!

$89.99 EACH

Although these are metal with urethane bushing of somesort so i guess i wont be getting owned...N E Ways im going to try and drill out my old ones and hopefully not ahve to buy those expensive suckers. And i will do my brakes tomorrow before the drive to Canadia Land.

ValuePack
07-18-2007, 04:02 PM
Uh... is that OEM endlinks for $90 each? Because $90 each is a ripoff no matter what you're buying. Stick with your stockers to get you by and buy some Perrin, Kartboy or Whitelines for half the price(okay, Perrin is probably more) when you get the chance.

EDIT: I see they're aftermarket. $90 per corner is still rediculous.

Robk0000

As far as the C clamp goes, im going to drill that one out as well then, lube the sheiot outa it, so i get no squeaky.

Nate8409

If we don't count my Winter Tires and The new Rims + Rubber for the summer I've still got $100 to spend..... I think I'm gonna get a short shifter.

Yes, but I am not. Might be doing an install for kens car sunday. Not sure if I will have time to do springs too. I will let you know though. Saturday is most likely a whiff or golf day/relaxing.

With generic tools you can do it in your driveway really easy brian.

My tools consist of a metric socket set, one torque wrench, one ratchet (all 1/2 Drive (I think)) and some other various odds and ends. I also need to change my oil, and I don't even have the damn springs yet anyways.

In addition to the fact that I've potentially got plans this weekend, means that I won't have much time, and if god forbid, something gets ****ed up, then I don't have a ride. (so week nights are out of the question) I'm waiting till I can at least get it in a garage of some sort.

Nate8409
04-15-2008, 01:20 PM
Eh I guess it is just me being so used to being a driveway warrior.

I have done two sets of springs. Two sets of sway bars. Actually I have done everything in my driveway including my brembos. The only thing I didn't do in my driveway was my up pipe.

so
springs x2, sways x2, lateral links, trailing links, struts, strut tops, brembo brakes
down pipe, cat back x2, urethane exhaust hangers (biggest PITA of all).

I think your next mod should be a muffler or something like that. Maybe downpipe.

Ya lots of things...gonna have possibly 5-6 subarus in the garage already on saturday, definetly four of them. Sorry but no room for spring install on Sat. Sunday is the race. I cant promise I am going to have much more time (save race prep days) for the next 2-3 months to do many installs.

Installed my SS from Ken last night. Feels great. I'm going to install the bushing this weekend I hope. Still waiting on the spring install.
