Anyone know anyone who has done one of these schools?

Seems kinda steep to just slide a round in the snow.
But with my driving record on snow anything may help....

best money you'll spend on your car. it is WELL worth the money. It is a great way to learn yours and your cars limits in a controlled environment with an instructor to show you how its done.
PS. I work at Team O'Neil, but was recommending it WAY before I worked there. questions? hit me up

I guess its about the same cost of a track day but on snow. May give it a try.

Having done that exact course through that exact offer a few years ago, I recommend it wholly.
It was a blast of fun, very informative, and instilled a lot of confidence and skill in winter driving. I can also safely say it's saved me from hitting at least one car (who decided that turning around in the middle of the road on a blind hill in a whiteout snowstorm was a great idea, and was sideways in my lane when I crested the hill.)
It covers a lot more than just sliding in the snow, that's just an added side effect ;)

I'd go, but My damn tires are 225/45 r17. Don't suppose they'd make a exception would they?

My girlfriend and I went about two years ago. It was great, and if we had the money we'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Some of the practice you cannot achieve (legally) but you walk away with more experience driving in snow properly than you could ever figure out on your own. Unless you've already done several rally/rally-x events.
Best bang for safety buck you can spend to better understand the dynamics of driving in snow.
(unhook your rear sway or leave it on it's softest setting for snow)

i doubt they would...the worst roads you will drive on all day are the ones leading INTO the school, lol. just saying...
looking forward to meeting who ever is coming to this class. see you there!

Cash and my wagon running... I'll need to get used to the 6 speed and the ENTIRE REST OF THE CAR! So much will be different in my baby and yeah. Not so sure about wanting an instructor so long as they let me do what I want and maybe suggest. I'm not so good at being flat told "Do this" :unamused: I can learn for my self but the controlled situations is what I'd be interested in.

I'll see some of you guys Sunday! I've signed up my two boys. I'll be there for moral and mechanical support in my black wagon. It was great when I went a couple years ago. You can push yourself as hard as you want, but you'll find out the techniques to driving well (and fast) have to be practiced. No one is a natural. They'll give you the tools at Team Oneil. You have to practice using the tools and techniques.

I highly suggest this class to anyone. The instructors are great and it really helps you get a feel for your car and breaks bad habits we may have while driving.

there were repeat customers that understand the idea and no only want to go faster. they come in thinking they are getting a 250 dollar RALLY class when its really a SAFE driving class. those are the ones that usually leave feeling slighted and reflect that in the post class survey.
then there are those you just cant get through to. they are going to not listen, stuff it, break stuff, one kid would not stop palm steering the car and we had one instructor tell him next time he takes his hands off the wheel he was going to DUCT TAPE them to the wheel. and this instructor is a local Sheriff so i dont have any doubts that we would!!! lol

I caught myself doing that a few times, it's a bad habit.

I always palm steer, it's a bad habit but I am so used to doing it and I've never had problems.

there is a saying we like to joke about in Rally..
we were hauling ass right before we went off.
this could also apply here as well.
