Any info on this? I have a set of M3's on stock rims that have 3 seasons on them and would like to stud them or put some screws in them for ice racing this year. Just looking to see if anyone has done this or knows anything about it.

With a full snow tread, grab the hand-held drill & insert appropriate screws at will.
It's that easy, just don't use long screws, lol! :D

read the rules for who you would be ice racing with, a lot of places dont allow screws on street cars, or at all. also studding tires after a couple seasons on them is quite hard, due to finding a stud shot enough to fit. Normally the carbide wears at approximately the same rate as the tire

How long do you suggest? That article said to use ones that would go right through, but you have to use a crap load of slim.

Yea, i have to do that before i do anything. I'll be racing with BMW up in NH. Went once last year and loved it!

This was mostly just a want to try thing. If it doesn't work, oh well.

I looked last night and they do have a class for super studs, which include bolts, and tire screws.

Even if i couldn't run them, it'll still be fun as hell to drive around on lakes with them!

As a side note, you might want to ask your insurance company if they'll cover you when you're on a lake. Many times people find out afterwards that their company is sheisty and won't let you file a claim after you plowed into three M3's and fell through the ice.
