Turbo Specs on this monster as of right now... it will change in a few months...
IHI VF11
This is the standard equipment turbocharger used on the USDM Legacy 5MT MY91-94. No other information known at this time. As soon as i do my VF39 setup in MY02 WRX WAGON this one will go under the wrench and receive the tdo4 turbo from the wagon...apparently the td04 is the upgraded turbo for this car! also might be adding a different tmic! That is all for now....oh and soory for the ranger in the background...LOL

thanks man, I've been doing research like crazy and I wanna do this the right way  first is to fix the brakes, and while doing that I'll be upgrading the pads, rotors, brake fluid, ect... instead of using oem quallity stuff. going more high performance :) and the shifter linkage bushings :spin: then the body work...

Looks good!
thanks, I've got some work to do to it but have a huge lack of motivation lately  well thats actually normal for me :o
I've been thinking and thinking about what I want to do with this car. I've decided I want to try this car out in the hill climbs. that means I need to start working on the suspension and brakes first. don't need alot of power for that when I'm just starting off but I will need to grip and stop :spin:
From the factory this car is a 16 second car in the 1/4 mile. I'd also like to make it a 13 second car :) As most of you know I like to drag race a lil more than others  my plan for that is a turbo upgrade, sti side feeds in 1.8L fuel rails, walbro FP, GC fmic, down pipe, and I'd like to get a N1 style exhaust for the legacy since I think it'd look different for that body style
but ya I've allready priced out the premium Centric pads and rotors from my work and with the tune-up I need to do I'm looking at around $250 alltogether... plus getting the car registered and inspected, maybe around $500 total?
not sure just yet.
oh ya and also I need some all seasons OR winter tires for my spare set of 16" wrx rims :unamused: anyone got any RE92s

Well I got a lil motivated today. Cleaned out the car today to see what was in the trunk. Lots of **** a cople starters, an alternator, 4 door cards w/ leather accents, extra trunk carpet, turbo coolant tank, turbo heatshield chimney in great shape, owners manual, fender intake thing, and a few other small things that I can't remember
cleaned out the interior and tried to figure out where I want to mount the boost gauge I've had for a while. Still brand new in box
next thing once I do actually get tires is paint my wrx stockers and put them on. But what color...

Yeah, bbs.legacycentral. I wonder if you could swap out the linkage from a newer car, then short shift that. I was quoted like $25 for a linkage if I pull it at the JY I told you about, where Alan got his harness.

Just wanted to note that when I stopped by bond your car looked REALLY FAH-KING good(take that censorship).
BTW- Find out who opened my diesel 911 and slap them in the face. The seal under the cap was already removed and 1/4 the bottle was gone after I bought it.
found out that it was def a packaging problem... every bottle on the shelf was kinda opened already. the foil was not sealed on any of them very well.
That's ok, I bought an exhaust hardware kit there once, and there was NOTHING in the box! That place is awful.

and another thing, I want this thing to stand out of the croud... what turbo setup should I go with?? I really want to see what this motor can do with just boltons... I've heard it'll handle just past 300 at the wheels and thats with the junk heads...
stock location, lil rotated setup, ect... I know my way around custom stuff so it wouldn't be a problem at all. worked on Heaths jdm motor more than a few times and this 2.2 turbo setup is the same for location with the intake manifold/intake setup
plus when (not if) I blow this motor, I've got a complete 2.2t to take its place
but what to do, I've been thinking of the usdm sidefeed injectors, walbro, full 3"turbo back, keep changing my mind with the intercooler setup since I love fmic's, thinking the PP6 for EM, ect... just like the title states... ever changing project even before its on the road and legal :unamused:

Justin for that car get the full 3" TBE, usdm sidefeeds, and a fmic. That factory hood scoop is garbage I'd be surprised if much air actually got to the i/c. For the turbo I have an 18g laying around I was going to use but I'd recommend something similar. I'd steer away from ihi turbos like the vf22 like Ed suggested, iirc they're aren't rebuildable and you cant get much more efficient turbos for the money.

well I've got some $$ left over after finishing my christmas shopping so thats going twords the car getting legal along with my extra paycheck in January :) as soon as it is legal and up to my specs to be on the road, my wrx (that just turned 60K ) will be put to rest with the car cover that I got from ej2point0 last year
My deadline for this first stage of the build will be the WBM fyi

since I've got nothing going on tomorrow I'll be doing all my tune-up stuff to the SS while the weather is ABOVE freezing
not sure what else to do really, I've got an oil change, plugs, wires, fuel filter, ect... to do to this rig because I'm sure it needs all that ****
these plugs are going to be sooooooo easy to do compaired to the dohc heads

They are probably fine. Worst case, if they feel stuck, CRC Freeze Off man. Works so good on aluminum stuff and its flammable, so even if it gets in the cylinder, it'll burn off.
If you want some help or whatever, you can try and get ahold of me.

One other upgrade I'm doing is putting wrx shifter linkage, shifter, and knob on the ol'SS :D After doing more extensive research I was able fo find others who have done this! And by doing that I can eventually put in a short through shifter in it :spin:
So no more slop for that leggy  Thats really the only thing I was having troubles with on the way home...
I'm not sure when I'll be doing this but it shoud be sometime soon once I have a heated garage to use...
Thinking of also swap'n out the seats... not really feeling the leather

NICE, when i bought mine there was a nice box with all kinds of japanese writing on it and a picture of a shifter.... i think they put a JDM short throw in thinking it would fix the slop in the shifting, but i still have to replace those same bushings you are replacing

yep, from what I've found out its a really common problem. Its hard going from the slop of the leggy back to my wrx so I figure I'll make them both the same  problem solved! I'll try to do a wright up when this goes down, hopefully help out others down the road
