Dear Boston Chapter Member,
White Mountain Chapter Karting Event
By Dana Sion
Remember driving a go kart when you were a kid? Well, this is a chance for you, and your family to enjoy go karting at the premier Hot Laps Karting Center at Sugar Hill Speedway in scenic Weare, New Hampshire. It has been a while since the White Mountain Chapter has held a go-karting event, so we are excited to offer this opportunity to our members.
This is not your traveling amusement park go-kart track, but a ten acre facility with a challenging seven turn road course that is sure to provide hours of exciting racing. They use 13 hp karts that can attain speeds of up to 65 MPH. Safety is important to Hop Laps, and every driver will be outfitted with safety gear (helmet, racing suit and neck protector). They have karts specifically for younger drivers (7-14), with roll-bars and four point harness and limited to 30 MPH, so your whole family can enjoy this event!
The next Go Karting is
Saturday July 21st, 2007 - 9:00am
Held at Hot-Laps Karting Center in Weare, NH. Rain date is 8/11. http://www.hot-laps.com/directions.htm (http://www.hot-laps.com/directions.htm)
Cost: $75 ($35 for 7-14 year olds) http://motorsportreg.com/calendar/event.cfm?uidEvent=21A15401-EA26-9018-374C04E8B988DE2B (http://motorsportreg.com/calendar/event.cfm?uidEvent=21A15401-EA26-9018-374C04E8B988DE2B) (until 07/15/07)
Please be aware that there is a limit of 60 participants for this event, so register early! If you have family members or friends that just want to come and watch, there is no charge for them. There are concessions available on-site with indoor and outdoor seating. Visit the Hot Laps web-site for more details on the venue ( http://www.hot-laps.com/ (http://www.hot-laps.com/) ) .
You DONOT have to be a White Mountain Chapter BMW CCA member or a CCA member for this event. However all drivers must take part in a "chalk board" training session prior to driving on the track. Of course if you are an instructor or drive at NHIS then you would not have to take part in the whole class.
