i want to put my 2.2t into a 97 obs? can i open source tune the obd2 ecu to run with the turbo motor and if so how hard is this going to be to do, any other info would be great

No you cannot reflash or otherwise hack the stock ecu, only replace or piggyback.
Doing the entire engine swap (wiring and ecu) would be good. you can get a chip from revtronix for that ecu to run bigger turbo and bigger injectors.
If you are only swaping the motor, an emanage ultimate would be an affordable but very tunable and reliable option.
If you wanna go the inexpensive route (cheap), use the stock injectors from your 97, because your stock ecu could not run the legacy turbo pinks, and use a rising rate fuel pressure regulator.
'Spinmastert' on the mainley subarus board swapped an EJ22t into a mid 90's impreza, so pick his brain.
My opinion is that unless you can do the swap for really cheap, it is not worth it, you might as well just swap in a EJ25, both have 165 hp. However, if you invest in either the piggy back or chip for the legacy turbo ecu, you can make good power on a budget.
