Anyone recommend any shop for me to get my clutch install? or maybe some local member that willing to install for me? I am on a tight budget,,so anyone know good mechanics that will do side job, let me know, thanks!!

I am located in Western Mass on Weekdays and usually go back to Boston on Weekends.

I'm always on a tight budget too. I cooked a clutch on my 96 Ford Escort. Thats ment I had to pull the tranny of of that with basic mechanical knowlage and tools. Major PITA but I did it. I beleive a subaru is easier to drop a tranny out of but I never done it. Do some reading and try doing it yourself if you feel comforable. Just remember to replace and resurface your flywheel.

You can actually pull the motor forward, and leave it in the bay if you pull radiator and such. Then you can do the clutch on the back of the motor. Supposed to save a few hours of labor. It should also be cheaper to refill coolant, than the transmission!!

I don't see why not. Still just a 2.5 EJ-series motor.

Clutch can be done as Ed(squeethebee) said. Yes same on the fozzy. I'm not close but have tools and such. That's the problem most of us with space and tools are in NH.

And/or are busy as Hell. :( I'm getting nowhere lately on my project. Well almost. You want to travel and can set a date and we can see about doing it up here.

Dude, wish I could help since I really, really like your car. But my space is filled up with my slop box for an undetermined amount of time.

Have you been able to find anyone with the space and/or the tools (hoist and tq wrench are the only specialty tools you need)?? I bet a few of us would be down to help some weekend if you could procure those.

Who want to help me with my timing belt also? My dad going away in march so I may do it then. Maybe clutch also if feeling ambitious.
