We had a customer bring his brand new 2010 LGT 2.5GT in for some power goodies. At this point we are going to begin researching what to do for him, but we did get a good baseline of the car, along with pull the belly pan off to see what we will be working with

Below are a few charts to give you an idea of how we tested this car.

First test was in forth gear, since we have not dyno'd any car with the new 6MT, we were unaware of how long the 4th gear is. As you can see by the chart below, the 4th gear pull was over 20 seconds long and achieved over 120mph! Below is the HP/TQ and X is the MPH Axis.

2010 Legacy GT - Stock forth gear pull
http://efilogics.com/dyno/graph.php?gb=0&hp=1&torque=1&mph=1&runid1=608&rgb1=000000255

Another graph here is a 3rd gear pull, this pull made a little less horsepower and significantly less torque.. The speed achieved was around 88mph and the test window was just about 12 seconds.

2010 Legacy GT - Stock third gear pull
http://efilogics.com/dyno/graph.php?gb=0&hp=1&torque=1&mph=1&runid1=609&rgb1=000000255

These results lead me to believe there is now torque control on a per gear basis. Although peak boost was about the same in each gear, the boost curve was significantly different.

This plot is HP/Tq compared per gear

And some pics we took of the car up on the lift (Our dyno room is under construction).. We are going to continue to work with Alex to get this car tuned along with getting the suspension up to par.

Yeah, no more "uppipes and downpipes", now it's just "horizontal pipe".

The biggest issue we're seeing is there's not room for a turbo the size of say, a 30R or 35R. There is plenty of room elsewhere though, so changing the placement of the turbo may become common... especially if they go to this style design for the next big change in the STi.

wtf is up with that turbo?

Also nice power but it doesn't change how ugly it is.

I dig the new turbo setup but I agree with it being close to the filter

I wonder if it still sounds like a subaru on the fact that the header is pretty much an equal length???

It definitely won't sound like a Subaru as we expect it to sound... It's tough to say without an exhaust out for it yet, but chances are it will sound more like a JDM Ver.8-10 STi with the EL headers and twin scroll turbo...

That is something! Also, they went with a serpentine belt? I hate working with those, lol, huge pain in the ass vs. the 2 belt setup, at least to me.

Gaysauce about the turbo placement :unamused: If it wasn't already hard enough to put an oil sandwitch adapter on for sensors...

i love the way the new legacys look! have you sat in one yet? seats are sooooooo comfy... the leather is like a pillow! the only thing i don't like is the e-brake since it's a button now... i don't know i could get used to that. but the front end looks REALLY aggressive.

Yeah, the electric e-brake means no more e-brake fun in the snow. I guess people will have to just use the throttle.

I test drove the 2010 LGT I had mixed feelings on it to be honest (coming out of an 06 spec.b that i drove to the dealership and drove home) it was a good comparison... The tranny was much smoother but I didnt like the feel of the clutch. Also I found the seats to have less side bulstering but not really be any wider. Granted im not small but im not a total lard ass and I felt more cramped in the new seats then the old ones despite the growth that the new LGT had in girth and length...

I mean its personal opinion I didnt hate it but it didnt excite me to be in any rush to move out of the past generation...

the supposed reasoning behind making the e-brake a button was so they could make the seats wider. that's interesting it didn't work out that way.

and yes, it is all opinion. i didn't drive one though, just sat in it.

The LGT stopped back in today to fit up a rear sway bar made for an '08 WRX and it fit great! Next up are the coilovers that will be going on later this month...
