Hello everyone,
To kind of compliment our Lamin-X niche I decided to start carrying bulk rolls of vinyl so people can wrap their roofs (or whole car if your going all out). This stuff is perfectly safe for your paint and actually protects it! My supplier says they used to wrap swat cars with this stuff and peel it off 3 years later and the paint would look like it did the day they wrapped it. As of now we are doing sheets of 48 inches by 5 feet, which is more than enough for a roof. We are contemplating doing precuts in the future. The colors available now are Flat Black, Gloss Black, Flat White and Carbon Fiber if you guys want. If I see enough interest in particular colors I will pick up more rolls (5+ people for one color).

4 years is what can be expected normal.
If you use 303 vinyl protectant ( 8.00 a bottle) you may be able to squeeze some more life out of it and prevent it from fading...

Here are some cell pics; came out pretty good for my first attempt. Took me an hour and a half, you def need 2 or 3 people. I ended up applying it dry, since it was colder out (50 degrees) I was able to apply it several times without any issues to make corrections. Since it was colder the adhesive wasn't that sticky so it made it pretty forgiving. I would suggest starting from the middle with the squeegee and working your way to the outside/ corners (working the large wrinkles out). I started from one corner and worked my way through, but I would suggest starting from the middle and working your way out. If you get a large wrinkle you can cut the vinyl and overlap it, and since its a flat color its not really even noticeable. IMO it looks really good, now I want my whole car done!

Not in stock, but I could get it... If you are looking for protection I would suggest Lamin-X precut films or bulk... Lamin-X is much thicker than the clear vinyl

Looks dead sexy. I do have 2 questions though: 1) How does this stuff hold up to snow/ice/automatic car washes, 2) Can vinyl be shaped at all or would a curved surface have to be done in pieces? The reason I ask is I really want to do a black roof/black hoodscoop/black wing (if I get one) or trunk.

hmm..do you think it's possible to wrap a front lip in vinyl? i have one that i had painted once but the guy didn't add flex to the paint so it all chipped. this would be an easy way around that if it works...maybe need a heat gun to melt it around the curved surface? would need gloss white if it is indeed do-able.

I am in the process of getting the 3M carbon fiber automotive vinyl, I also have current acess to flat black and flat white, as well as gloss black. I will try and source a color chart for you and see if there are some gloss colors that you may like.

These wraps will survive tough winters here in New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. We wrapped Tim's hood of his WRX before last winter and it held up great. It even protected further abuse.

Where's the color chart ajw? What brand of vinyl are you going with? and is it the air release kind? I've sourced out 48"X50yrd's for $550ish... I am trying to find cheaper and in the right color.
You need 2 things on this thread: a Color Chart of colors you currently can get, and some sort of pricing. roll size would be good too... More and more people seem interested... you better get the train rolling before people start taking the bus!! ;)
