Okay I'll pop up my own quire and then leave this open yo talk about options and opinions of different aplications with different chassis/frame combos.
Now most of the regulars know my planned set up on my wagon but most of you don't. I'm in the process of fully building up my 97' OBS and swapping power and drivetrains. I am having a little difficulty without putting in the time to hunt, in finding STi subframes to swap into my car. Are the 05-07' WRX subframes the same dimensions? I know they aren't as beefy but they'll do better than the 12 year old stock ones that have seen offroad fun and if they are the same track spacing good. I'm bringing my wheel base out some in the process of the swap and widening the body pannels to accomidate the stance and wheel/tires that it will all sit on.
Any clarity? Thanks

The subframes wont bolt up I don't think. I believe they started adding those pieces in 2002 on the impreza's. I'm not sure the 97's even had them.
correct me if im wrong of course :)
All 02-05 subframes are the same though

They do bolt up. It's some of the components that aren't interchangeable like control arms. Not all 02-07' frames are the same. Bugeye ones may be the same as GCs but I know 04-07 are different for sure from 92-01'. STi subframes are beefier and I know they have a wider track on the STi than WRX but I can't remember if it was soly from subframes, soly from other parts, or the combination. Either way the 04+ is wider than the GCs but trying to tap aditional knowledge pools on this. I'm sure Kevin might know but he doesn't always check in here. Maybe i'll shoot him a pm.
I just don't feel like redoing things after the first time unless for a good reason. SO if I can get things exact now or can at least be part way till I can have tubular heavy duty subframes made, the better.

Confirmed info:
STi front subframes are different. 05-07' are same demensions BUT 07' (possibly 06 and 07' are a few lbs. lighter)
rear 05-07' subframes between WRX and STi are the exact same.
I'll fill some more in later.
