Earlier today i was a bit late for work and got stuck behind a Jetta literally going 15 mp,so i decided to pass him and continue on my way, i wasn't really even speeding by that much (about 35-40mph) and I was going around a very slight corner and let off the gas a bit and it just blew sideways for some reason and i had to avoid hitting an oncomming car in the other lane...I managed to avert a head on colission but I still sideswiped him a bit and well...here is the aftermath

So I literally ran over to his passenger side to make sure everyone was ok....no one was hurt thankfully and the guy was really cool about it..and there was the Jetta instead of checking on the driver that was hit they just decided to be dicks and yell at me and be no real help at all, so i just ignored them. All in all trying to avoid being late for work by maybe less than 5 minutes ironicly caused me to be late by over 30 minutes and now I have to deal with this ****. I mean it honestly could have been worse and thanfully no one was hurt.

So i had to change my tire in the pouring rain witha scissor jack going over wtf happened in my head and I still have no idea what went wrong, I have driven dow that road a million times in way worse rain and even snow and way faster than 35 mph too. It just doesn't make sense to me, did i skid on some dirt or sand? hit a rock? small woodland creature...I just don't get it and it really pisses me off that my once pristine Subie has this ****ing crumpled mess on it now...

On a lighter not the cop decided not to give me a sitation because he drives an STi, lol he asked me if I was "rallying" lol I just said "no I was just trying to get to work" I don't think he believed me but I seriously wasn't trying to drift or anything it was totally unexpected and my normally grippy car turned itself into a sled.....this day was an **** fail

yes it was a tense moment and it could have gone far more wrong, my car escaped with only cosmetic damage and it does pull to the right a bit now, the other guys car definitely has a bent control arm to saythe least

Quite obviously you lost control for some reason unknown to us, but glad all are ok.

Same thing happened to me on Storrow Drive - I literally turned completely around to face on-coming traffice. My back just slid out and I felt like there was nothing I could do about it. Ended up costing me $500 and my insurance about $2,500 to fix. Had to get a new rim, crossmember, front bumper, some fender work, and an alignment - looked very similar to your pics actually. :(

But the thing that sucks the most is I can't figure out what went wrong for the life of me!:spin:

Good to hear everyone escaped unscathed, and that the damage isn't as bad as it could've been.

It looks like it could've been a case of sub-par tires and slippery mess on the roads (all the small leaves + rain) added up to a very unlucky morning for you.

thanks everyone, yeah I think it was a combination of wet roads + leaves + low tread on the rear tires. I put the stock rim back on with the tire is worn differently that the other newer drivers front tire and it feels so much less sure-footed, lol. Thankfully my tire is ok, the rim is toasted though....if anyone has any parts laying around like a door panel or fenders let me know, Also I am looking for an RS six spoke to mount the other tire to, it just looks odd with the one different rim.

Also I am glad that no suspension parts are bent or anything, def in need of an alignment though

it is actually an access road for the sewage treatment plant so it is where all the runoff from up above goes....so there could have been some oil on the road....I am just glad i slid to the non sewage side :)
