on a 95 leggy will the all the traction stuff like rear braces from a impreza fit also what kind of hp can a stock diff handle and would a sti one with axles fit in the 95 leggy

I think what you're saying is will STI bits bolt up to your 95 Legy...

1) STI has a wider track than the old 97 Legy's but it will "bolt up"


1a) Trailing arms are longer
1b) Hubs are larger and require different brakes which in turn will require new wheels
1c) Offset will require you to roll or DELETE your fenders (lol)

2) STI diff is larger, you need a WRX or STI T-Brace to get it to work... I think you can stuff it in the older GC Tbraces, but might wanna get one before you get into it.

3) STI axles dont work with an R160
4) STI Axles don't work with 95 Legacy Hubs
5) Diffs and other drivetrain components are rated by the TQ they can handle, not HP. - I've seen R160's get beat on with 300-400 WTQ and survive... it's the transmission that's going to pop first.

To do it right you're looking at an entire rear end conversion retaining your lateral links to keep the rear track as close to "95 legacy normal" as possible.

OK THANKS WELL I DONT PLAN ON GOING PAST THAT FOR TORQUE SO I WONT NEED TO UPGRADE THE DIFF TILL I BLOW IT I GUESS :spin:

Everette, I'll have a WHOLE Impreza rear setup soon if interested. I'm doing the whole STi powertrain swap so everything is coming out. PM me if interested, cause I can make a good deal along with a full brake upgrade as part of it. (No need for BB Rotor kits when you have Brembos so I need to sell those)

dose any one know how much more power I would get? I like the 1.8s a lot and how to by pase the shut down and going with the 2.2 head what gaskents sholud i use I know I have to change the disb. is ther any thing else to change

Why are you talking engine stuff in a differential thread? BTW hope you mean 2.2T heads cause the NA ones are single port exhaust crap.

Yeah! Though at least they'd flow vs the EJ22EZN heads... LOL
I hear EJ251's are a great way to go once you work past the wiring. Which is easy.
