We just got an abandoned Forester to add to our lineup. Low mileage, thing runs great. Auto, but whatever for next to free. Reason it was abandoned? Pretty much every panel on the damn thing is dented. Whatever, I'll get around to fixing it.
But it did take a good hit in passenger side rear, and it seeks a little at high speeds, the wheel is towed a bit so you can see the damage in the tire tread alone. The frame may be tweaked, but that'll be for the frame shop to decide.
Moral of the story? I'm trying to keep costs down and get rid of these freaking drums (oh yeah, it's an L). What stock rear ends (I would like to change the whole thing) will work other than finding an S in a junkyard? Or is that my only option? Are there strut/spring combinations from other vehicles that will work? I already tried pulling one from an S, but being in a junkyard...that didn't end well.
I forgot how much learning the ins and outs of a new vehicles was, part interchangeability is number 1 for me.
Thanks for looking, and thanks in advance for any help!
