So my co-worker who was going to move in with me decided to back out from the deal. His girlfriend from NY is moving up here now and they're getting a house together.

So I still have that extra room and while I don't really need to rent it out I suppose it wouldn't be a bad idea.

I'll just share the cost of the place for now and if you want to come check it out send me a PM. The place is located just off I-95 in Kittery. What you get: 1 bedroom, average size, shared bathroom, kitchen, dining room, family/tv room. Cost is around $300 which includes all the utilities except cable TV and Internet, phone and any other extra utilities.

PM for more info and contact number.

I might have to come up and see. garage?

TrickyDik

No garage. It's an apartment, kind of. Basicly it's a 3 floor house that was renovated and split into the bottom floor being my place and the above 2 floors being a house that is rented out by a Kittery Police Officer.

A lot of people who came to my BBQ can speak about the place being pretty dam big and a good deal for the money.

If you were to do work on your car however my landlord has another house on the same property and he has always offered me the use of the garage should I need to do work on my car if it was raining. Planning ahead is key.

$300  thats cheap

TrickyDik
06-22-2007, 09:00 PM
Well that doesn't actually include the cable tv or internet, I made a mistake. Sorry these night shifts wreak havoc on my head.

I pay $500 a month which includes the whole apartment plus all my utilities minus my tv and internet plus whatever else I want (i.e. phone).

The rent gets upped to $600 a piece with a second person living there. Plus cost of internet/tv which would be about $60 a person. Plus if you wanted phone then add that on.

Ill think about it. Let me get some jobs lined up and what not. I like the place man from what I saw of it when I was there. I just have to get work in that area in order to move there, which I am working on doing.

I really want to move too. Living at home sucks although very cheap.

Someone should move in with me. The way I see it, you save me 200-300 bucks a month, which means I buy more subaru parts, you get a good place to live and possibly save money to use on more parts yourself. FTW all the way around.

I will move in with you when Randy figures out when he's moving South.

My work is right across the bridge.

That would be sweet. You'll have to give me a heads up on when that'll be to see if it works for me.

My old lease is still binding, if he doesn't want to break it then I'm stuck.

then u better not be signing anything else or agreeing to higher rent.. because like you said.. the lease in his mind is still active and binding. also, im about 99% sure your lease is with the person, and ont the building, so its not binding. u cant charge rent for a place u dont own lol

I'm pretty sure leases transfer to new owners.

absolutely not unless its specified in the lease. most leases terminate based on the sale of a property

TrickyDik
06-26-2007, 05:46 PM
You'd have to check that lease but I think Eugene is right. It makes sense from a business stand point as a new owner may not want certain tennants around any longer and better yet may want to change the terms of a lease which is why the line of text that says that it is terminated upon sale is usually in place. It's a selling point for the person selling the property to be able to say that the people that live there can be kicked out upon sale of the property.

just imagine if you bought an apt and there was a tenant living there, and you wanted to move in. pretty sure as a new owner u could just kick them out, or for that matter, call the cops to evict them immediately.

lol, definately not motived to live in Maine.

On regards to the lease issues. Housing law is designed to help keep people from being thrown out on the street. I've done research and talked to people. almost EVERYONE thinks that the lease should still be valid.

Not in NH, but it certinatly is true somewhere.

Anyways, I'm out of here at the end of August. I'm looking for places to live now. I've got something possibly lined up, but if anyone is interested in anything let me know. Dover/Portsmouth area perfered.

Missing out on a great deal here in Kittery. I understand the whole Maine residency thing, I'm not subject to it luckily since I'm military. But you could always "live" in NH, hint hint, nudge nudge.

Oh, I get it now. FYI if any girl wants to move in to the room there is a few rules, I'll explain the number 1 rule now...

...a female who moves in with must ensure she invites over other females who are single...

Sorry, but it's a rule. I'm single now and haven't been for a good while so TrickyDik needs to meet some new womenz!

Hmmm, where was I? He didn't even buy me dinner before, or even after. I feel used.

But really, a female living with me is obligated to bring over other single females for me to hit on without mercy...really.
