I have had my car tuned by him twice. He is definately picky about his tunes, and makes sure they are perfect before you leave. He has tuned a few of my friend's cars with great sucess as well.

Having him tune your car is the best value for money mod possible, even when I just had him tune my car stock with a CBE, it made huge gains. Any one who has a turbo vehicle that is not tuned should talk to this man.

I'm not sure. I do know there is a shop that he is friendly with, if the need for a dyno comes up.

He also tunes a lot of Benz's and BMWs.

They have stated a willingness to let him use their facility if you do wish to use the dyno, however typically he does road tunes.

Brendan's a great guy to deal with and does good work from everything that I have seen. He definitely gets my

hahaha...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,..... ..........

wait.. let me rephrase that... Oh ****** NO... I realize the list of pro's and cons of doing so it made up of all cons...no pro's. My car is and will remain MOTIONLESS until it is tuned. With the nerw turbo the car has barely done 20 miles... Ahren from M/A drove it home when it was done to 1) make sure nothing was leaking 2) make sure the turbo saw a very nice and tender break in away from my destructive forces...

I have been privy to and have seen to many cars driven with improper mapping, the result is usually guarantee'd to B tragic... With everything I have done to my STi there is ZERO room for errors like that, count on me NOT making one..

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the delay on my introduction. Have been busy with some family setbacks. My name is Brendan and I've been working on Subarus since 2002.

What I have to offer to everyone, is a low entry point full tuning solution for their Subaru (starting at $150). Many of us like to mod frequently and $400+ per modification to schedule dyno time isn't feasible.
This can be a good cost effective alternative to those looking for frequent timing for various modifications. What this offers over convention dyno tuning: convenience, flexible, self installing on your time (email tuning), and having a go-to tuner to help answer all your questions before and after the service is completed.

I offer email basemap tuning and logging, full on road tunes with mobile wideband o2 tuning, to dyno tuning at your favorite location, to simple setup and goal consultations.

I have over 500 files of tuned Subarus from street to dyno, from 87 octane to C16, with multiple different combinations currently. Mild to wild, I can take care of it. I've many hours of street tuning, manipulating driveability in all throttle positions and testing real world daily driving conditions. I've found a great mix between reliability, local and west coast fuel quality and knock retard, and most importantly smoothness while driving on the street.

Certain areas that need many hours on the street outside of WOT testing on the dyno. Also, I will be posting some DIYs, some field experience tests, some pre-tuning best practices, some areas of concern and what they relate to in the real world, and most importantly some specials.

As far as history, what I offer based on a normal car obsessed guy just wanting more for his car and others wanting the results I've achieved. My days of tuning went back to the S-AFC and Hondata S100 in my boosted 99' Civic Si. After purchasing my 2002 WRX, I went through the whole Ecutek/Cobb Access Tune which was simply a mail in face. After fiasco and was one of the first owner of each with their pre-made maps I was always left with desire for more on a stock ecu platform without going to piggyback UTEC. My history starts with trying to improve and gain hp over the existing maps. I urged the first Cobb certified (TDC) to pick up the first Protuner software so we could dial in my WRX. Alot of the maps out there in the Protuner format pubically released were based off my car. So I have been that guy paying $500 a dyno visit, to getting sick of it and picking up the laptop himself and learning from scratch.

From there I joined so of the first on openecu.org world of open source tuning and got started on creating and tuning my own WRX. I got to learn techniques from some of the best and took Cobb's EFI training course as well. Big downhill spiral from there. Got some of the first 05 Legacy GT ECUs, and the first and scary ECU: 2007 STi straight from the dealership to test and configure. 3-4 cars a week out of my house, and now were 3+ years deep now. This in turn, moves into tons of real world experience and diagnostic abilities.

I started retuning lots of previously garage-tuned e-tune cars with unhappy customers into great success. So in short, a small side hobby turned into a nearly full time job with simple word of mouth. It feels great to finally do something
that you are totally passionate and love doing. I have a variety of cars and bikes, from swapped Subaru's, to M3's, to Honda's so I am well diversified. However my main focus is and always has been Subaru. So here I am to help out the community in whatever way I can.

Anything I can help with or any questions. It will take me a little time to get on my feet here and post up some information so bear with me.

Don't forget, I also can tune other imports: Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes, BMW, you name it. Alot of other platforms if you guys have dailys or garage queens that need a little more power!

Good to see you finally had time to post up!

Sure. Just make sure with the basemap that the car is 100% perfect prior to road tuning. The swap can be a tedious job with lots of loose ends

I've done just about every Subaru in this area (central MA). Have people regularly drive from Maine/Vermont/NJ. I work with the customer and get them sorted prior to the tune and for the drive. :)

Had a friend have problems while trying to get tuned, so I know how much of a pain that could be. Where would I get a base map is what I'm wondering? Would you send me one, then I drive around for a while to work the bugs out?? See where my confusion is?

Yep, I would email a correct basemap over for your mods/current state. The map is tested and true so you can figure out problems from there.

Hey there,

I can if the customer is using street tuner or race tuner currently. I do not own the right to use Cobb "Pro" tuner software. With the age of Open source almost lapping Cobb's base platform in ease of use and cost of entry (outside of nice features like live-tracing/real-time etc.) I haven't found it necessary to go the Protuner direction.

90% of my customers leave Cobb and sell off the AP and pickup a Tactrix and move into Open source with my services.

Hope that helps.

Just had my 06 wrx tuned with Bren today. He is an awesome guy and a great tuner, I showed up a little early for my appointment but we got right down to business (http://www.newenglandsubarus.com/forums/#). Before he got started he checked all of the bolts under my hood to make sure they were tight and cleaned out my air filter prior to tuning. He also turned off an annoying check engine light in my car and saved me a ton of money. His friend also turned off my seat belt buzzer and that was also a +. We did an hour of on road tuning doing pulls in different gears and Bren tweaked the maps for increased throttle response and more boost. My car was basically a stage 1 tune, as my only mod was a catback exhaust. I was extremely impressed with the results of my tune. A HUGE improvement over stock in all areas! Bren is also a meticulous guy who really puts the time in to make sure that everything is perfect before you leave! Overall a great experience A++

Had Bren tune my gf's 04 STi last week. The guy is top notch, without a doubt. We managed to squeeze a good deal of power and a great deal of driveability from the car.

We even had a chance to meet travis pastrana! Or something about him, maybe his "tuner" or some ricer claiming to be him. Either way it was a hilariously great time!

And he's got some badass bikes in his garage.
