My Brother lives south of Boston and he SWEARS they are now illegal in Mass.

Can anyone confirm?

They're perfectly legal.

You're less likely to get a warning though.

They are only illegal in VA and DC. However, Jammers are another story.

Detectors are perfectly legal in Mass still, trust me if the law changes I'd be the first to know.

I've actually been thinking of selling my V1

It spends 99% of my drive time in the glove box.

Cops may give you crap about the location of the radar detector is on the windshield and say it is blocking your view as well.

That's why I kept mine low. The only thing it obstructs my view of is the hood scoop.

Detectors are not illegal, however, if you're pulled over for speeding and the cop sees it... almost 100% chance you're getting a ticket.

that is what i was going to mention.. i had a buddy get a ticket for it obstructing his view, even though it was mounted real low like pulski said...

cops obviously hate them.. even tho they aren't illegal, when i would get pulled over, i would always pull down my passport 8500 quickly if the cop wasnt close enough to see me do it.. just so they wouldn't be more dickish to me..

I've managed a verbal warning before, but you're right. It's very unlikely.

Nah.... I never bother taking mine out of the window and I cant remember the last time I got a ticket... knock on wood. Its really how you look and behave after your pulled over. If your an idiot with earrings a stupid flat brimmed hat and talk like an uneducated ****, you get a ticket. You are respectful, speak like an intelligent human being and are honest = no ticket.

I was thinking $400 with the remote display and hardwire kit

Unit is $400 new with hardware, remote display is $39 more. If I were going to spend that, I'd spend $40 more for brand new.

Let me know when you want my $200... :spin:
