WTT: OBP spoiler trunk for spoilerless

So who wants an OBP trunk with a factory spoiler?

Id be willing to trade straight up for a spoilerless trunk, and I am willing to travel a bit.

i did debadge subaru and 2.5 from the rear however, but I could give you those if u wanted

ill do the same for mine. the scratchs are from removing the left over glue from debadging. most of it was taken car of it from waxing. and on top some one had pulled some across. hard to tell only up close. and the wax job took care of most. will post pics too.

looks real clean, nothing noticeable from a distance.

i tryied to get a pic of the top but the flash was blurring it out. and too dark to take wit out. the sctraches that are in it can be taken car of with a claying and waxing. the car is actaully dirty.

whats your schedule like next week? It would be easiest the sooner we could do this, I move out of Boston and Mass. at the end of next week. Could always swing it at a later time though, as Ill only be in CT.

or ill just take off from work for a couple hours. last week did some work on the car and a bike in our office parking lot last sat

you can see the small scratches that are right in the middle of the trunk from the XM antenna that I used to have mounted there. They are not big and are not noticeable unless you are up close and looking at that exact location

this week is a little crazy for me, with trying to get everything ready between moving out of boston and transferring schools...

any idea how easy it is to get the trunk off? Id imagine its just a couple of bolts at the hinges, and possibly a matter of tightening and adjusting so that the trunk fits evenly....

I dont have the tools with me right now but could always pick them up and figure it out over the weekend

looking at the "vacation pix" it looks like we need a torsion bar remover??
i have no clue how or where to get one, I guess we can attempt to get it out by itself but that could be dangerous.
but we should be able to just unbolt the trunk without having to remove anything else, just make sure we have enough people to hold the trunk so it doesnt fall on the rear glass

other than that its removing the trim and then unbolting two bolts on each side

i would actaully want that to happen. my rear window is leaking from the corners. and i dont want to pay for a new one

i took a look at the trim and all the bolts and stuff and Im pretty sure I figured out how to do it...

hardest part will be removing and reattaching the trunks

other than that its switching out a wire harness inside the trunk, and removing the cable for the trunk lever off of one trunk and onto the other.


oh and btw, did you want me to debadge the rest of the trunk for you that way its completely debadged?

I can do it in the morning before I leave

Is the Third brake light hook up just a plug in ? Just wondering if all cars are equipped. I think my third brake light that is covered by the spoiler still lights up behind the spoiler when I hit the brakes. Stupid SOA. :cool:

Just unlug the connector. It is right in the trunk. Blue and white.

But did you connect the brake light on the spoiler?

Every Legacy comes prewired for the brake light in the spoiler....theres a connector under the carpet.

my spoiler was actually tapped right on the harness on the trunk so we essentially just switched our wiring harnesses.

And yes, my third brake light always came on with the spoiler, didnt care enough to fix it

john, your trunk has almost a straight blue emblem, where if you look at the one I gave you, its a deeper blue, with a circular fade and a weave pattern to it

its weird that they changed it. I like mine better...haha

yea i did notice. then i covered it with an L7 badge. and then debadged it. i notice that the spoiler brake light cover is made in new zealand.
