Tinted Windows in NewHampsha....

So I was pulled over & ticketed for speeding the other day, and the cop threatened to write me another ticket for my window tint. :unamused:

I do have my front windows tinted, but I bought the car that way and the dealership (Singer in Plaistow) told me it was legal.

Copper said I'm lucky a Hampton cop hasn't made me rip it off right in front of them. :eek:

Yeah I'm a n00b so here comes the dumb question.... What's the law in NH? Cause I wanna my headlights & taillights too...

tint on back windows only not side front and windshield. Headlights and stuff is probably not really aloud but as long as its not crazy I'm sure they wouldn't notice. Slow down... lol but how fast were you going for a ticket.

state law you can not have the windows to the left and right tinted at all and only the top 3inches of the windsheild all other windows can be tinted to 35% but u have to remember the windows are 7% from factory i have my nh state inspection license thats what the law states they cant make you tear it off but if they want to be dicks they can give you a ticket for tint and obstruction of view

its actually 6 inches on the windshield. I have had my leggy tail lights tinted for a couple years now with no problems. It all depends on the cop,town and if he wants to bust your.....

Yup, they're real nazi's about tint in some areas. I "heard" that if your affected by bright lights and or have night blindness you can get a doctors slip for higher tint % on the front side windows. I think I need to talk to my HMO pretty soon..

It was stupid, he said I was going 48 in a 30. I was accelerating from a stoplight though. He shoulda cut me a break!! I thought having boobies was supposed to make life easier... But I guess my driving record sticks out farther than my rack at this point. :lol:

lol ya girl driving a subaru speeding probably isn't going to get anymore breaks then a guy doing it. And i'm guessing you got to 48 from the stop sign pretty quick. Know were to speed... Dont do more then 10 over at anytime unless you know there are no cops. Golden rules. How many tickets do you have? I've been speeding a lot since I got the new car but not in stupid places I guess if I get busted though its ok havn't gotten a ticket in years figure one wont hurt. Ps anyone know a place around concord new hampshire or with in an hour or so that I could get my BACK windows tinted?

The place I got them done has a Windshield with all the shades of tint on them, with the Darker 3 of the 4 shades they offer having a Huge ILLEGAL sticker across them... I had my old car done the same, and only pulled over once, Specifically for them. Was let off on it though, being Military Police in the Army, the Cop told me to be careful with them. I travel to New Hampshire every month, to the Manchester/Londonderry area and Never been bugged by a cop.. Maybe cause im an Out of Stater.

Being an outif stater gives you about 5xmore likely hood if being pulled over! :lol: it's a matter of area and how you drive. I din't get hassled for exhaust that doesn't exist currently on the SVX cause I'm not driving crazy(in the open) and the car looks like it should sound that loud. Just how it is.

when you have a car that sticks out like a sore thumb your already going to get more hassle than others. I was going 75-79 with 4 other people on rt16 i was the last car, state cop pulls me over, and he was going the other direction. So i know he saw the group of cars going over but the bright blue race car is the one that get the ticket.!!

Ive had so many debates (arguments) about this at work and even guys that are former/retired/whatever cops all have different arguments about it. One of my supervisors has 35% on all 4 windows and slightly darker on the back window and hes never been pulled over in the 4 years he's had his Audi S4. Other people have been pulled over/ticketed for having 35% on just back windows.

Ive decided before winter Im going to tint all 4 windows. lighter in the front than back. black out the hatch windows, and probably 35% on the hatch. Then, I'll just wait and see what happens......

My recomendation, get a radiar detector and get in the slow lane when it goes off if you want to keep your tint. I have to with my exhaust and I've been ticket free for 3 years :)

if you plan to be in at or around hampton... dont do anything illegal to your car. they dont like my RS at all but the cop was nice about it since i had moved from ct
