me and some buddies are road trippin' maine next weekend. any suggestions on stuff to check out?

what we have semi-planned.. make time (shortest route from greenfield) to the kancamagus highway for a sweet drive, then hit up baxter state park (about as far north as we plan), on the drive back hit the coast for some...beaches... and of course seafood dives.

we're planning a friday-sunday thing.. would be nice to get thursday in too, but not sure if everyone can get it off from work on short notice.

we have it loosely planned in our heads.. i threw some points in mapsource..

its looks like.. i91 - 25a - 112 (kancamagus) - 302 - 2 (NH/ME border) - 27 - 201 - 16 - 15 - (baxter state park)... back roads to i95 to 1a to bar harbor i guess.. then back to i95 to MA-2 home..

the stuff after baxter is very loose..

other than the ride home you will see nothing but trees and animals :lol:

there is a strip club just outside baxter state park, that is if you like your women toothless and hairy

so i guess i was right!

yea its a hills road trip mostly.. we'll be camping and such. but after baxter, we wouldn't mind some city stuff/touristy coast stuff..

coming down 95.... I'd stop in Bar Harbor and grab lunch.

After that, unless you're in a rush, take route 1 instead of 95. It's much more scenic.

Route 1 merges with 95 in Portland. Go to the topless donut shop (sorry no linky while i'm at worky) or down to Old Port for some micro-brews.

Get back on route 1 south after Portland and try not to stop in Ogunquit :lol: but def stop at the Kittery Trading post!!

If you do decide to stop in Kittery, lemme know and me and 08WRXME will meet ya for a beer :)
