I'd like to note that I had the previous record on that car. Maybe he's learning from my skills?

Done a few times on my 08 WRX commuting. It's all in how you drive (engine load + shift points). Granted my commute is 95% highway driving.

weight reduction helps alot too.

When my car is actually mobile the best i have seen was 365 filling 13gallons. 28mpg

wow, the best I have seen was about 28 MPG on a trip to CT and back. Since I moved I have a hard time seeing over 22-24 mpg. of course a eight minute commute and stop and go traffic off base doesn't help..

I"m hoping to see something close to 30ish from my Impreza.... As long as i get 28mpg I'll be happy but really want to see 30. My record in the SVX is 25.345MPG from NEFR last year. Though I might actually have beat it this year durring the Mt.Washington cruise but I can't confirm. Prior to leaving the auto road I had an estimated average of about 26 and change. Not bad for a 15 year old car.

i've heard from a few members that the 08+ are getting great mileage :)

I also have a 6th gear.... at 70mph in 6th I'm at 2100 RPM.

Here is what I drove:

Portsmouth-Boston (Milton) and back 120 miles
Portsmouth-Manchester and back 45 (miles)
All the rest is city driving

All the 2010 subarus will have a 6th gear and i'm sure gas mileage will increase.

On another note, Middleg622 is getting 22.8 mixed driving

What only that on a OBS?! Come on the two tone adds like 10MPG! Why else would I keep my two tone on my baby when she gets a repaint?

Psh. 6th gear is for pussies.

FWIW, if I remember correctly, 5th gear on a WRX and 6th gear on an STi are the exact same ratio, so unless they change the gearing on the new ones, it probably won't make much difference, at least on the WRX.

Well that will be part of the point on when I have my 6speed that I'll be getting rebuilt. I'd like to lengthen 2 and 3rd a hair then have 5th be between normal 4th and 5th with 6th being a longer than 5th gear for cruising. Essentually keeping the performance mindedness of the 6 but also squizing out some MPG.

I remember the Si I drove for a year was cranking at like 5k in 5th gear going 80... it was ridiculous.... as a result, it always got 29mpg, whether it was all city or all highway.

i know a guy with a 2008-2009 STi wagon that went from about 22MPG to 27MPG after he upgraded Turbo and went with a FMIC, EFI thought it was a data error with the dash trip calculator thingy, but he got just about the same thing when he manually worked it out. so now you can write off getting a bigger turbo to the wife so you can save gas!!!!
