Various part Fitment on 97 Imp

I'm thinking I might just keep this as a thread for on-going fitment questions with the 5spd and parts? That way I don't have to create a bunch of new threads over the course of the next week or so...

Can the main thread title be changed to what 's displayed up top i.e. as opposed to "clutch fitment", says "Various part Fitment on 97 Imp. Transmission?

Double post! Haha don't kill me, I know it's an internet taboo. I figure I should keep my questions seperated by post though.

Starter fitment... when I look up the part numbers online, it shows a different one for a 96 than a 97, and so forth... Are they compatible, just very slight differences? Or do I need a year exact one? I found a 96 one in VT CL for $30 I might pick up...

I believe they are different on the 96-97, i dont know much about the older models in regards to interchangability.

96 and 97 are slighty different motors that is why the starter is different.

Alright, thanks for the info guys. I guess I'll hunt down a 97 specific one.

I'll post a picture of the tranny up today... I think I'm missing a dipstick... ? Hopefully someone who is more familiar with these trannies can enlighten me.
