These are PLUG & PLAY! Slim Ballasts!!!
Trouble Shooting:
It has come to our attention that some people are having issues with HID kits. We found out today on an install, that the HID wiring harness are backwards on alot of the kits. Meaning that when you go to plug it into your stock headlight bulb harness, you'll see the positive and negative wires are reversed on the HID ballast wire. All you have to do is pull the wires out of your stock harness plug, and reverse them. We got a few emails that the HID's were not working when plugged in, this is why. We addressed this with our HID suppliers, they said HID's come from the same manufacturers over seas. This issue has to do with the kits are not standardized. We saw this issue alot with the 9007 kits. Any issues, please call!

Big turbo on the evo? Incorrect hardware is never fun. I really want to get some of these.
Question, if and when you blow a bulb, what do you have to buy to replace? The whole kit again, or just a bulb at a parts store?

The 55 is a little brighter. Puts out more power. If you are doing foglights, I say go with a 35w because the 55w burns hotter. But for lowbeams, the 35w work perfectly fine!

Subimods

I do not, but if you want White, go with a 5 or 6k, that is very white. If you then want a blue kit, go with either a 7k or 8k. 7k is bright white, with that lil tint of blue that you can notice. The 8k is more on the blue side. Need help, just let me know!

I can get you 55w, but they are more expensive. IF you are doing fogs, I suggest the 35ws, the 55w get too hot in that small fog housing.
The 35's are more than enough for what you need, trust me. I do not use my high beams now. I think the others on here can vouch for that!
Id order the set of 35's!

Subimods
08-20-2009, 02:32 PM
Hamsocks, most of the time they are just the plug and play. When you pull the plug off the back of your bulb, look at the plug compared to the kit, usually a plug and play set up. However, if you do that and they do not turn on, you may have to just pull the wires out of your car's wire harness and switch the power and ground. That is an issue with the kits made over seas not being standardized etc.
Test the lights, when they work, all you have to do is take a 1" paddle bit and put your hole in the plastic cover on the rear of the light, and that rubber gasket will fill that in and seal the lights. Just mount your ballasts and you are good to go!!

Did you read the issue on the front page of this thread?
Subimods
08-28-2009, 08:36 PM
That's exactly the cause. With ALL HID kits they are made overseas. And the manufacturers do not have standardized guidelines they have to follow like they do here in the US. Therefore you may have to pull the wires out of your stock harness and swap them around, the power and ground are more than likely backwards. We have not had a bad kit yet, we've bench tested them, and found that was the issue with them. We spoke with several distributors/manufacturers and they all gave the same information. It's a pain the arse, but that's the story with HID's.

1) Take the red plug running from the ballast.
2) Take the bulb plug from the OEM harness
3) Insert the ballast plug into the OEM plug upside-down.
4) ???
5) PROFIT!
You don't need to fool around with pulling wires out or anything. You basically just need to insert the red ballast plug the wrong way. Worked for me.

I regular HID kit can only be used for low beams, so you'll get no high beams. The hi/low kit has hi beams and low beams in HID.Iv got a 97 impreza outback sport wagon and im looking to get some HID's

Yeah, got mine in a couple days ago, other than the passenger side only lighting up half the time, I have nothing but good things to say about these. WAY brighter than even the Silverstar Ultras I replaced, I love turning them on and watching them get brighter and brighter too, I'm like a child!!!

Big HID blowout this weekend. We had a big shipment last week, making room for the next shipment.
We are selling the most HID's on the eastcoast for Subaru's. Go with company you can trust!
I will update this thread with the weekend sales tomorrow!

Hey I got some for my 04 I was wondering if there is anyway to adjust them it seems they point up alittle and are alittle off just wondering if they can be adjusted.
Subimods
10-10-2009, 03:42 PM
Only way you can adjust them is to really make sure they are seated correctly in your housing. If not, they will point off in the wrong direction.

nope, my bud got the hi/low kit and his is the same way. its just so you can still pass inspection. if you had a dual beam stock you would need this to keep your car legal. Low beam is only HID, odds are you won't be using the high beam much since the HID low is sooo brite!!
I never use my high beam anymore

Only the low beam is HID, the high beam is a Halogen. Look inside the bulbs and you'll see the shorter filament.

Absolutely, we are now stocking Bi-Xenon ones as well, I just have to get them up on the site.
As for the hi/low kits, those are listed for $109.99 on subimods.com
Let me know which kit you are in the market for etc, as we stock many of those as well!

no sir.

6K crisp white
8K is blue

How much of a difference are we talking with 6k? I can deal with a little bit of difference but I can't stand the ones that look blatantly aftermarket coming at you. I want to blend in...

With 6K, you can tell they are aftermarket, that's why I sold mine. Gonna pick up some 4300's eventually.
