In the last few weeks, we've completed turbo builds on a few costumer cars of note.

First off, we took on a pair of STis ('04 and '08) owned by a good customer of ours! He already had a 20G on his '04 STi and after a track day a few weeks ago, decided to go bigger! We put on an APS 725 FMIC, APS 70mm intake, and a Blouch Dominator 3.0 turbo. He already had 750cc injectors and a catted turboback. He ended up with 353 hp and 362 ft/lb of toque.

So then we took the 20G from his old setup on the '04 and we put it on his '08 STi! He already had a turboback exhaust and AEM intake, we added DW 850cc injectors and an AVO fuel pump. He ended up making 337 hp and 339 ft/lb of torque with this setup!!

We're also working on Duy's car right now... we've already put a full exhaust and a host of Whiteline suspension goodies on his car. We also rebuilt his motor a few months back in a search for reliability with his '08 STi. Accelerating his plan over the next year, he then decided to get a bit more power out of his STi. We're currently installing a Blouch 2.5R "Polka Pickle" turbo, AVO fuel pump, HKS intake, DW 850cc injectors, DBA front 4000XS rotors with Hawk HPS pads, and the first Cosworth FMIC we've worked with so far. At this point, we've got the FMIC mounted and it's looking very nice! This might just slip through without needing any bumper cutting, which would be quite impressive! We'll update further when we complete the car and get it on the dyno for some tuning!!

Here's some pictures so far of the Cosworth FMIC:

That is quite possibly the best looking FMIC ever!

He shouldn't have too much lag considering it's a 2.5R...

Where are you getting this information from? Proper boost control tuning utilizing the stock boost control system can net great results - loosing 1000rpm due to the addition of a front mount is not acceptable.

Here are a few examples from our dyno database that completely prove your theory incorrect. Every thing is on our dyno database, use the search function and look around. The laziest Blouch turbo I have tuned was a D4R, and it achieved 26psi at 4500rpm with an APS 725 Intercooler.

06 WRX - APS 525 FMIC Blouch 2.5R - 24psi by 3600rpm:

A little update on this car... it's now complete and in the hands of the owner!

The Cosworth intercooler kit is really a love/hate piece. While the core and bumper beam are beautiful and a great design, the plumbing for the kit could have been worked on. Our two issues with it are that it deletes the window wash fluid fill tube (so if you want to add more, you have to take the bumper and one intercooler pipe off...) and it didn't fit an aftermarket turbo as well as it should. It would fit a stock turbo fine. Regardless, the results with the 2.5R were 341hp and 372ft/lb of torque.
