What's going on at EFI??? Lots!

Before we get started on the photos, we would like to remind the community what EFI can do. We have been completely amazed at the response from the Subaru community and we thank NASIOC and all of those who have come to us since our inception in November. We continue to move forward to improve our facility for our customers, and we will continue to push forward to try to be the best in the tri-state area for Subaru performance and race car preparation. Below are a few things that have changed and happend at EFI, and we invite you to come out to our facility to take advantage of what we have to offer.

EFI has always done full fabrication and welding, but just last week, we picked up a brand new Miller Syncrowave 250DX, we can now handle any type of metal you can throw at us, including tig welding up 3/4" aluminum. To add to this, we have a dyno cell with one of the most serious fans in the business blowing over 70mph.. Keeping your ride cool while under tuning conditions.

This week we had a 2006 Ford GT come into the shop! We put on a 14psi pulley and put some high flow cats on before Chris got to tuning. Stock, it made a whopping 537hp and 467ft/lb of tourque. This is a car that's rated at 550hp at the crank from Ford... yeah right! During the initial pull in 4th gear, it quickly got to 180mph on the dyno... we had to actually raise the speed limit in order to get this car where it should be!

Once Chris did his thing, it ended up making 624 hp and 592 ft/lb of torque!

First up is an engine for boat that just needed to run well for now... Chris will be tuning it further on the water in the future. We had a pretty crazy setup where we had the truck it was on pull right up onto the dyno so we could get AFR logged.

Next up is a good way to brake in a fresh motor as we did on this customer's '06 LGT. We put it on the dyno to allow the motor to feel load, while on the dyno we set the cruise control to cruising speed then varied grade percentage as the car would come in and out of boost gently seating the rings. The car was monitored by our technicians, driven for a day, then went right to tuning.

Last week we had this Porsche 944 Race car stop in to get a fuel map from EFI... he drove the car up in a trailer from Maryland and is completely amazed at how well the car is running now...

EFI Logics - WBM '09

We had the opportunity to go to the biggest Subaru event in the US this past weekend. EFI showed up with 6 cars, 3 race cars, and 3 high profile customer cars.. With an event that featured both of Ken Blocks cars, and the Subaru Rally teams cars, we seemed to draw large crowds with the work and video displayed at our booth. The exposure EFI received was excellent, and the feedback from the people there was outstanding. All in all, we got to meet some great people and check out some fantastic cars..

That's a car that was built up in New Hampshire or Vermont and then sold to someone down here in CT. We modified it further and he's now doing NASA track events with it.

Yup, it is! I believe it's all factory quarter panels/fenders cut and rewelded to make it widebody.

We've actually been packed around here, I'll make another one of these threads shortly with what we've been up to lately. Maybe once the cars we have coming from North Dakota and Chicago get here for their engine jobs, I'll take a picture with the two of them next to each other. ;)

Bryan, without changing the engine management, I don't think you can fully get rid of it... I suggest getting rid of it and putting a stocker in. While I luckily didn't get a CEL with my Streetlite flywheel in mine, I'm honestly a bit sick of it since the car is more of a pain to drive sometimes because of it. I'll be going back to stock when I do the swap later in the year.

Yeah, we can absolutely tune a PP6, so that might be your best bet.

We should have some updates soon - business has been busy, so I've had less time to be taking pictures and posting them up! The race season included various wins, although all 3 drivers were busier with their day jobs this year, so they did not attend as many races as last year - they still came away with I believe 4 wins and multiple 2nd and 3rd place trophies in the end!
