Hi Guys,
I just had my wrx in for servicing at Ira Subaru in Danvers MA......they said my front pads were low and recommend i replace them. They quoted me at almost $400! Any idea what front pads and labor would cost elsewhere?

$400 for fronts!?! Screw that man. Lets estimate cost of pads at $100. I'm sure you can do it yourself or find someone to offer a hand for the mere cost of a six pack. Its a good learning experience and very easy to do.
To answer your question...no, I don't know how much it would cost elsewhere.

Thanks for the feedback! The guy at the Danvers Ira said my pads were close to the end and they would have to scrape down the rotors or something......i had my g/f take the car there because i am in Berlin for work.....i think they were trying to take advantage of a girl with her bf's check book .....******ers. Id totally prefer to do it myself but i dont have ideal space at my house for it..... :-\

Holy crap, i paid that much for all four slotted brembos and pads!
You can do it yourself with mentioned above materials, Raybestos rotors and pads for a good price. Doing all the rotors and pads will probably cost you close to $250-300

If the rotors are bad from running the brakes too low it will be pricier but just for pads they are around $60...hawks or similar aftermarket brands run around $100.
