So I got my whiteline bars in today. Very easy install minus the extra brackets that come with the rear for the 08 model. These rear brackets mount from the bolt on the lateral link to the bottom of the saddle bracket of the sb bushing. I am having a hard time with trying to break loose the nut on the lateral link. O yeah and my buddy ROUNDED OUT THE NUT!!!! Any suggestions or advice on putting in these goofy brackets???

PB Blast or if you don't have any some wd40 and a lot of waiting for it to penitrait. The other one and the rounded one.... either drill it out retap it in revers and take it out that way or get that grip-it or what ever thing that does the same thing. About all you really can do.

WD40 will work eventually...just keep hitting it with the spray. A pair of vice-grips will also help grab onto the nut.

Your going to have to seriously let the PB set in on that one. It is a royal pain in the ass. It looks clean enough but subaru torqued the hell out of it from the factory.

PB Blaster over night.
2-3ft breaker bar.
Make sure you use a 6-point....it will keep you from rounding it!

id just cut the damn head off with a grinder and get a new bolt. Doenst have to be subaru specific either. Just make sure its equivelant to strength and size.

+1 to Robk. A Dremmel, Grinder, or Sawzall will make short work with the stripped nut. If you can't go that route, you can use a penetrating oil spray on it (if you can Kroil, if you need any pm me) also HEAT works great with pb oil, so a mapp torch will help. Save time though and cut it. If it was a Turbo bolt, then you'd want to go with spraying and heating it to get the bolts out. Good luck!

Don't you have to be careful with heat though? I thinks it's got rubber in there. Anyways guys pretty sure he got it all set the other day, not sure how but he's a good friend and called me to say it handles amazing throwing in his bc coilovers soon too.

Yes there is rubber behind it. If you end up ruining the the rubber bushing you could always replace it with a poly whiteline one. TiC sells them.

Sorry guys havnt posted back in a while. I GOT IT!!!! Well... Actually my friend did. We ended up hammering a 16mm socket on the nut and with a breaker bar and my some muscles it broke free. Turns out the brass and aluminum spacers seazed together. The right side was easy but I had to drop the muffler to do the other side. It was a pain in the @$$ but the braces are in!!! The car handles way better and I gotta say its one of my best mods that ive done. Now I cant wait to put the BC's in this weekend!!!! :D:D:D:D
