HIDs and Fogs

I ended up getting out of work early today, so I stopped by Michaels and grabbed some yellow stain glass paint and ripped out the fogs. Put on a thick coat and thru them back in and I am VERY happy with how they came out. Looking foward to seeing how they look in the fog.

If anyone else is looking to paint there fogs yellow, I have PLENTY of paint left over, just let me know.

which HIDs did you put in, are they a bulb kit, jdm, etc?

You can pick out your HID's coming down the road from a mile away... them things is bright.

yeah, they're in stock housings right now, but I will be swapping them out when I get my EDMs, which will have HIDs.

8,000K Xetronics, its a full kit with ballasts. grassyknoll and i put them in, easy install, and I love the light output, I just want the EDMs to finish up my front end.

if anyone else is interested in these lights let me know, ill sell them pretty cheap. I bought the kit for $550 with the harness (9007 hi/low beam). I'm selling it all for $150

I also have an H3 kit available even cheaper if someone wanted to match heads + fogs with HIDs.

They work for my car? How you get them, stealing them off of the back of the BB truck?

i dont believe so. these are 9007 for the headlights and H3 for the fogs. Jack (grassyknoll) bought them for his leggy, but when he got his STi he let me borrow them until I bought my EDMs.

9007 is the high beams on my (and anyone else's) 05WRX i know for sure, is there two different light outputs with these bulbs? i think the low beams on my car are H1's

well the Legacy used the same bulb for hi/low beam. I bought paid like $80 extra to get hi/low beam on the HID 9007s. However, they don't work the same way as the stocker bulbs. The stock has two halves of the bulb that light up. The bottom half for low, top for high. The HID just emits a SLIGHTLY higher output for highbeam (no difference in output angle). However, I also found that they emit plenty of light on low beam and that the high beams are never necessary.

The 9007s are Xetronic HIDs, probably one of the better names out there.

The H3s (fogs) are Promax. Not as good a brand but they are just for the fogs. I have them with an approximate color match on the bulbs so I could use them together.
