Here's the second in my hopefully long list of how to's to make your car so much better than Subaru ever did.

This one focuses on the interior, specifically a part used everytime you drive your car, THE SHIFT KNOB!!!

Step 1: Stock = Awful.

Step 2: Pull sweet accordion shift boot down off the tapered portion of the shift knob.

Step 3: Simply unscrew stock knob counter clock-wise. It may be slightly tough to start if it's been on for 15 years like mine.

Step 4: Screw on the replacement knob clock-wise, in this case a 2004 WRX leather knob.

Step 5: Pull the boot up over the tapered part on knob. I found this to be the hardest part of the whole install.

There you go, all told, should take under 5 mins, but drastically changes the feel of the car. Much nicer to touch than my stock rubber dildo.

I believe it's a WRX knob, but either way feels a lot better.

I won a Cobb knob at Supermeet 3. I didn't put it on at the meet for fear of looking dumb not knowing how to put it on. Good thing I waited till I was home and read this thread

Just playin with the reading the instal part, just read it now, but the rest is true. I got home and put it on and I was like, "Dam, wished I'd put that on at the meet"

It's ok. Ed is a pro at playing with his knob, especially in public. seeing as how you have never done it before, i could see why you would be nervous. Me, ive done it a couple times.
