EL Or UEL Headers, That is the question

I have a chance to scoff up some EL OBX with a HFC, my only concern is the fact it will probablly sound more like a honda, is that true? Is it worth the time an effort to even touch a EL or just move alone an find a UEL.

Yeah you don't loose much. Plus with increased flow you're likely to hear it better anyways. Go for it! Just be glad you can easily find things for your engine. EG33 and EZ30R are hell for finding parts. Almost everything is custom work.

I disagree, I dont think it is going to sound as boxerish as they are saying. There was a SERIOUS difference between mdungelman's car when he did a header swap. I think he has before and after clips, too.

On a stock muffler you won't be hearing much difference. My clips are with a Stromung non-resonated cat-back. Maybe the OBX's are slighly more unequal length than the stock 2.5i header.

Mdungelman, your car sounds kinda beastly actually. I like it. Idealy I was looking for UEL borla's or reps. But, way out of my price range an the UL OBX's I can get for a really good price.

Boss, I don't think you're accurate on the life of headers. I've got a stock wrx header on my ride, but why would authentic borla, replica, or obx's only last a year? The answer: Poor workmanship. Most of the time they last many years. Borla's had some problems with cracking. The replica borla's seem to have pretty good welds and slightly thicker piping. As for OBX headers, I have no idea.

Dhurteau, especially if you're getting them for cheap, go with the OBX header.

Well the verdict handed it self to me in the form of, the guy NEVER got back to me. So Stock it is, however in my boredem i put my torque box back on, an put a AEM dryflo filter on the little elbow it self. It sounds mean, an pulls like a mother. Ill throw some pictures up tomorrow If you guys are intrested.

However, I just took a peak at my stock exhaust yesterday. An it was scary. I will be needing to replace all of it heads back, If anyone knows anyone selling EL or UEL a HFC mid pipe an tail pipe. Let me know. Its seriously not good at all, An I have an inspection coming up.
