Old school Subarus(no, I don't mean GC bodies, I mean EA71s, EA81s, and EA82s) have been famous for their very unfamous and rare 4x140 lug pattern, making overseas aftermarket and Peugeot 504 and 505 wheels the only options for a wheel larger than 13x5.5". For that matter, even aftermarket suspension options were extremely limited. Until a few years ago, anyway.

Someone found that the entire suspension from a Subaru XT6, including 5x100 brakes, basically bolts into the older pre-Legacy sedans, wagons, Brats, and XTs. This opens up not only all the factory and aftermarket wheel options for the early Legacys and Imprezas, but all the factory and aftermarket suspension options for those cars as well. Running the Tein coilovers and 245-width tires from a 3100lb STi under a 2400lb sedan coupe or wagon is now possible. Check it out.

That's an '87(I believe) Subaru RX turbo coupe with Impreza D2 coilovers and 17x8 Rota Torques, wrapped in 245/40R17 Continental Sport Contact 3s. It's also running an EJ257 shortblock, 2.5 RS heads, an EJ205 Intake manifold, a stock EJ257 exhaust manifold, a VF39 turbo, water injection, a US spec GD WRX transmission, and LSDs front, rear and center. Those are not Rota Torques. I have Torques and they can be viewed in the Member Gallery here in my thread.

However that is cool none-the-less.

EDIT: If those are rotas I'd wager that they are part of the Tarmac series.

I've been asking that for ages... probably because fast family sedans are making money these days; there's not nearly as many overall sales to be made in the "slightly-smaller than 350Z" segment. I only reason that's Subaru's thinking, as we've confirmed that they're moving away from nieche markets into a more mainstream market. Expect crap cars to follow.

Basically... the '08 Imprezas looks great on paper(much Legacy GT influence, mechanically speaking), but looks like a Korean luxury car to me. I dunno, I figure that the way things are going, we'd ask Subaru for a coupe, and thru badge engineering, they'd deliver a Cobalt with Subaru badges. "The all-new '08 Subaru Cobalt coupe, with 4 speed auto only!" ***** Saabaru, it'd be a Subarulet. Or a Chevaru. Something. Maybe a Subontiac G6... Pontaru?

Subayota tC? Toybaru tC? It'd never work, the tC is too interesting to drive.

Because 75% of the US market is pickups & SUVs?
