At least for my sizing, cheaper than even the Dunlop Z1 Star Specs. Now you have no excuse for not having a competitive ST-class tire! :unamused:

Update: looks like they got more in!

how are these for a DD?

Not sure, I've run on the Falken Azenis RT-615 and I thought they were a great 3 season tire (if you run these in winter you're out of your mind). People say that the RE-01R is a nicer tire overall and to live with than the RT-615.

Tires are disappearing fast, my size just ran out. :(

LOL. Got the 17x8's now! :D You still out suspension me with the Teins. My RCE's/Tokico Setup is damn close though, just not as stiff! Also getting camber bolts for the front. :D Working for Exeter Subaru has it's benefits!

Negative... the Teins are gone, KW Variant 1s are in because I'm a pansy who couldn't handle 550lb springs on a daily basis. :spin:

I want RPF-1s pretty bad, but decided I wanted a protune more. I'm a whore I know...

Murphy2012
03-03-2009, 03:28 PM
I am protuning sometime soon I hope. KW's = YUM. Wish I could get a set, that or the TiC coils. Same deal with me, can't deal with the heavy spring rates year round, especially in Lakes Region/Southern NH.

I've been really happy with my KWs doing moderate street driving on winter tires. I know I'm going to pay the price at AutoX though, I don't think it'll be the same. My back thanks me though.

TiCs make me swoon, I'd love to drive a car with them on so I could compare with the KWs. Get a set so we can find out! :D

Is it April yet?

I know I can't wait! I would love to get a set, just cant afford them. :( They dont even come with top hats.....Maybe someday. I am sure the car will handle great nonetheless man. I am pretty sure 450/300 (or somewhere in that ballpark) are the optimal Impreza Rates.

IMHO stock STi or Group N top hats are enough. Camber plates are nice and all, but I don't run crazy negative camber (enough for bolts handle) but the difference in feel between a rubber mount and a metal plate isn't enough for me to put up with the extra NVH. Maybe I'm just getting old...

Kevin
03-05-2009, 08:10 PM
i'll be running 255's on a 8" wheel as a daily driver. I don't think 275's are that crazy lol. I had 18" wide tires on 12" wheels on my old truck lol

BTW, can you use RE01R's as a daily tire? I thought you couldnt due to heat cycling..?

Robk0000
03-06-2009, 07:21 PM

:D I have read from Tirerack reviews that they are acceptable as a DD/Weekend Warrior Tire.

Rooster
03-06-2009, 08:06 PM
Yup, just heard from my buddy Nick up in VT. He states they are a great DD tire, if rotated regularly.

Since my WRX is just a weekend warrior car, I'm all set.

yeah, we may be rolling fenders sooner than we thought...

Robk0000
03-06-2009, 08:34 PM
whats the chance of sticking 245's on my wheels with no fender rubbage?

Murphy2012
03-06-2009, 08:41 PM
I am not even sure I wont be rolling. I'm going to mount them in the next week or so and see what fits.

Was playing around with mine in the den. I'm psyched!

Robk0000
03-12-2009, 06:59 PM
got mine today, getting these to fit and not rub is going to be a challenge.

Can we push the fender wall out with your roller or is it only good for bending the lip in? I read online you have cut the lip and then bend or something?

We can experiment. :)

Kevin
03-12-2009, 07:32 PM
just got mine today also woooot!

Nate8409
03-12-2009, 07:32 PM
Nope not crazy but unfortunately you don't get the performance you want from the tire. With a rim too skinny and a tire too wide you are not able to take full advantage of the tires contact patch. You get the ballon effect.

Is there anything bad with getting some that say "2005 Production"? I'm thinking about getting some of the 225/50-16's for my wagon. Also, those are gonna run like a mofo I think, gotta check that fender rolling thread, lol.

Seraphinwolf
03-15-2009, 06:51 PM
^^ all depends on how there were stored and the quality of the rubber used to make them. Likely nothing wrong with them. I'm having a hard time of finding a cheap set of 17's and throwing on my puny 215's on them for summer or spending the money for good tires. I still want to get those 245/45/18's I don't care if they throw off my speedo that much. I mostly want them for the Impreza when it's running anyways and I was gonna speedo correct it too.
-Gaddis

wagonmafia
03-15-2009, 06:58 PM
that size will not throw off your speedo. its within the 3% overall radius.
