this is a wicked cool setup, never see it before, nice find.

however, it looks to be for MAP cars, would it work for an MAF car like mine, ej22ez?

it would be cheaper than a swap and it looks like even i could install it

GC4-RS

bump it up :)

any opinions on the possibility of this working with the ej22ez motor?

the only way i would even consider that would be if i could get ahold of a 98 forester (DOHC) and then i would have the transmission/driveline i want too. i think those 98's are MAP arent they?

I think so....

If the intake is on top of the motor it's MAP

on another note...

You can put Forester pistons in your 2.2l :) I was talking to an old school scooby guy that did that, made some crazy N/A power

Can also put 257 crank and internals for a stroked 2.2. NA builds are more fun and less costly. I'd save the money and put it into the rest of the car. No sense having the power but can't keep it on the tarmac. Just my $0.02

I think that 200whp can be achieved for less than this kit while staying N/A

I have been lookig at this kit for a while but I'd prefer a roots positive displacement blower

no.. that are not MAP.. they are MAF.. anything prior to 2000 is MAF

which means.. I can't get one..

i keep looking at this picture, seems to me you might be able to boot the MAF onto the piping that the filter boots onto, just might need a smaller filter??

Why would you put a Forced Induction thread into the Naturally Aspirated forum?

GC4-RS
04-08-2009, 01:33 PM
why? its bolt on for NA's  and this is not a forced induction thread, this is a bolt-on SC thread for NA's in the engine, intake and exhaust forum

the forced induction thread is here: http://www.newenglandsubarus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3657

Just curious, but any reason for DOHC? SOHC N/A engines offer more torque and equal horsepower.

I'd be tempted to go S/C, but I think I could have a lot more fun with a good little hybrid turbo build.
