Evil Jeff, but I usually go by Just Jeff at work. I'm a Sr. IT Specialist/Buyer for Cianbro Corporation. Been here 7yrs this week, and I love my jerb and have every intention of retiring from here.

Before Cianbro, my dream job was to be a private arson investigator for a few years before trying to join the ME State Fire Marshal's Office. I was well on my way too, before an injury at my regular job at the time robbed me of that dream.

Now, if I were to pursue a career charge, it would be one of two things. Either trying to get my buddy at Harmonix to get me in the door, or becoming a meteorologist. And not one of those pansies you see on the evening news, I want to be the guy chasing hurricanes in Florida, screaming at the camera and such.

:rofl:That's awesome. Ahhhh, no. Unless the land owner wants it that way, which sometimes they do:eek:.
We have specific instructions from the power company and certain requirements. We have to make sure the lines have the right amount of clearance from the trees and branches. Sometimes it doesn't look great, but if we don't get our clearance, the forester will come to your door and pretty much tell you that we are going to do what we have to. So don't get mad at us!!!

Hi, I'm Kati *wink*. I am newly employed at the best Eye Doctor's Office EVER!

After 1 1/2 years, with about 2 1/2+ years of my life squeezed into it, I ended my job at a local tanning salon as the Salon Manager. It was the best decision I had ever made- based on the long hours, grueling schedule, no room for advancement, witchy boss' daughter(s), and despicable environment. My ex-boss lived up to his name by calling me on my 1 day off to scream at me about what the other girls were NOT doing around there, I decided I had had enough. My health was my first priority, and I had developed Diabetic Neuropathy in my legs and feet. By being on my feet constantly, I wasn't able to heal them properly, and a poor diet of McDonald's Fish Filets and McNuggets at 11pm wasn't helping.

I had just enrolled in college in pursuit of an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice- when I was presented with an opportunity to interview at the Doctor's Office. I purchased tons of office appropriate clothes before I was even interviewed. I just had this feeling that this was MY time. I went for a 2nd interview and my competition was hired after that. I was sad because this has been one of my dream jobs since middle school (Cosmetologist/ Psychologist are the other). I was hired, that same day I was turned down, at a local car dealership (that I had a 1st and 2nd interview with back in 2005). I was scheduled to start at the dealership on Monday [President's Day], but was called and offered the position at the Doctor's Office!

I am finally living my dream. The work atmosphere is amazing. The Doctors are truly fascinating. The hours and location(s) are ideal. The patients are super cool. The Doctors and the Office Manager are treating me as an equal (though I could never compare to the amount of education, training and expertise they've accumulated), and they make me feel welcome and super comfortable. I mean I even sang [poorly] "Loser" by Beck to my Office Manager! And I don't sing solo infront of ANYONE! LOL

This is not just a job for me, this is a career path that I am blessed to have been chosen for. I only hope I can make them proud, as I'll strive to be an excellent pupil.

My only other dream would be to become a wife (which I practically am), a mother of 3 beautiful children that I could physically give birth to, and write atleast one book. That would be ideal.

Name's Jess & I am a medical biller for a gastroenterology practice. The hours are okay (8-5 M-F. I'd like 7-330 but that is impossible). I get paid pretty decently and I have pretty good benefits. I've been there for 3 years in August and I really love doing what I do. One thing about my job I think some people would dislike is the fact that my work, is my work. No one is going to come in and finish it for you. I have my insurance carriers I work with (Harvard Pilgrim, medicaid, commercial, Cigna, Aetna, Martin's Point) and if something is wrong with the claim, I own it. If I leave work sick, I come back to my desk full of whatever it was I was working on. My co-workers and I work really well together, too. My favorite part of my job is collections. I LOVE calling people. I even laugh when they yell at me. I love asking people to verify their address when they say they didn't get their statement so I can tell them "Well we sent 24 statements to that address, are you sure you didn't get them?"

If I could, I would probably go back to school to become a physician, do something at NASA or a journalist. I know, a wide variety. I probably could've become a MD but I think I made the right choice for me at that time.

I'm Tom. You can call me Dr Dabbles. Or just Dr. I work as the sole IT person for a software company in Bedford, NH. I manage our two buildings, a server facility in a third building, two executive office buildings, and the phone and data networks and systems for all of those buildings.

For my company directly, I manage a production network in a colocation facility consisting of two SQL clusters with two blade servers each attached to a NetApp FAS 2050 SAN and a Brocade Fiber Channel switch. Everything is GigE connected with redundant network connections.

Our software manages rental properties, and specializes in low income and elderly housing. Basically, government subsidized housing through HUD and the rest of the state and federal programs.

Name's Mike, and I currently work in IT for Okemo Mountain Resort. My official title is "Security and Telecom Administrator", but essentially I manage our network devices (firewalls, routers, switches), servers, security/management software (WSUS, SAVSSC, VPN, etc), the PBX and all phones/numbers (~2000 numbers), and I also do all the structured data and phone cabling (cat5, FX, cat3).

Obviously working at a ski area has its nice benefits with free skiing, free passes, discount on food and gear at the ski shop, health and dental, but VT wages just plain suck for the IT industry. Seeing as VT has the lowest Gross State Product in the US, and the fact that our economic forecast is stagnant for the next 30 years, I plan on moving out as quickly as possible. Nothing is going to change here until we kick the progressive liberal trust-fund babies out of our state government, and I just don't see that ever happening.

I tried at logan airport.

revealed I had secret clearance, a 5 level crew chief, dealt with top secret planes... the top secret part must have drawn the line.

refueling and balancing out the old way and new was just an extra.

I nearly relapsed at the sight of this.:unamused:

1500-2000 vehicles and leaving grey oxide on the shower walls...not from my skin.. through my skin.

Why do my sube and I battle over invisibles. I blame me as much as the midget ape that invented it.

that job was a killer.

EGR cams, crazy timers...all air in and none out. These days of fuel Injection has a bonus...might live longer doing that job.

The lightning has not wanted me as much in the past year. Doing great. it has been 18 years since I left that job.

What is a b tech

A way to universally classify mechanics. Chrysler has 5 levels of certification, 0-1-2-3-4. Im a level 3/4 tech, therefore a b tech. I can do most everything a master tech (A tech) can but not at the same efficiency, and I don't have the lengthy experience to be there yet. For Chrysler, it also comes with being level 4 across the board in 11 different qualification categories.
