Got an airbag light on?

Under the dash, drivers side is 2 green connectors, 1 black and 2 wires hanging loose.
See here:
http://codes.rennacs.com/SRS-Airbag/Japanese-Korean/Subaru-Airbags.php

Plug one of the loose black wires into the top left of the black connector like such (use top right to clear the light)

Nice to know those harnesses have more uses to the home mechanic than just for reflashing. :)

There is a lot you can do on your car from home :)

ahh but the manufactures are making it harder and harder for even the independent shops to fix. run into it work all the time. so many things need a reflash to work right. just say like power windows in a jeep cherokee. change the regulator and motor. need a reflash..change power door locks or switch in a vette? needs a reflash to work. and the dealer is the only one that has the tools. chrysler 300 doesnt even have a tranny dip stick to check the tranny fluid. the dealer has a special stick to measure it using a drb...so stupid

Subaru's require a diagnostic tool to reset the TPMS light :unamused:

So I have the same problem with my airbag light is on, on my 98 Subaru Forester, and I want to get codes and reset it myself. It sounds easy, but when I went to look under the fuse fox, I only see the 2 green connectors, the black connector, and there are NO loose wires. Am I supposed to use the green connectors for this, or no? Did the loose wires come from the green connectors, or no? :unamused:

the wires are looped and taped back to the harness. they may be a little difficult to find. look for two black loops on the same harness as the connectors. give a little tug and they should come loose.
