Hey everyone just wanted to introduce myself to VTBoost! I'm Melanie. I live in Burlington and I am going to Champlain College for Web Design/Development.

I built my car last year. On October 30th, 2007 I bought my 1999 2.5 RS, I was bound and determined to make this car unique in some way, but it also needed to shut up some of the local boys... So I had my heart set on a swap. I found a wrecked STi in CT on January 28th, 2008 I bought it within a heart beat and trailered it back in the middle of a terrible snow storm on February 8th, 2008. The RS was fully Frankenized by March 20th, 2008 and have loved it ever since. Believe me I'm still working some of the little qwerks out of it. I love it though, and always will!

It has specs and tons of pictures. FYI the Aspen White RS is my winter car. The Aspen White STi was the donor for my World Rally Blue RS.

Personally, I love Champlain. The classes are small and the campus is nice and away from main street. I used to go to UVM and hated the 250+ kids in a lecture class and walking 15+ minutes to get from my room to my first class every morning... I had a rough time learning at UVM with the lectures where nothing was interactive and questions were a rare occasion. I like Champlain much better. Hope that changes your view. Are you at another school now?

Currently I am a poor college student so I haven't spent much time dreaming about future mods. I would love to put a wide body kit on the car because as it is I can't run the STi struts and springs in the rear or else my wheel will bounce off of the quarter. I don't really want to roll the quarters... I'd love to build the engine, bigger turbos, front mount, drop the car, put super sticky tires on it, some lighter rims, carbon fiber hood, trunk doors, everything possible and paint it. My friend Johnny is going to build me a cage this summer :) So I at least have to save for those supplies. I'd love to have a stage 3 clutch and fly wheel... I just don't want to dream to much right now because it just makes it harder because I can't spend anything right now... Kinda depressing...

I attempted to do the swap all by myself but had too many problems, with lack of tools, space, time, help etc that I had Kale's Custom finish the job. I really wish I had done it all myself, but even now, almost a year later, I doubt it would have been done. So in some ways I'm glad I had Joey take the stress off of me so I could enjoy it sooner. Although, as coincidences go, I met my boyfriend 2 months after the swap issues and he and I could have done it all together at his shop... oh well, thats life for ya.

On the note of Brembos... my boyfriend can get you some JDM Brembos if you want. Write me back before Thursday and let me know and I can ask him to get me a price quote for you.

I'm going to go and see Chris the first week of May or so is my plan, ASAP after exams. I want it tuned as is because I dont have anymore money to mess with the engine and want it to run better/happier etc as it is so I don't have to worry about it driving it around un-tuned for a while.

I really like the gold rims. when i got my car i wanted the stock BBS's to be gold but the one that had them wasnt in my price range, Meh. The ones you have look sick on your car. :D

I have 3 silver BBS rims left over from the STi I pillaged... but I'm kinda partial to my gold rotas... I wanted to paint the silver BBS' gold... (well get another one so i'd have 4)... but I decided I liked my rotas too much. They look pretty sweet with the gold brembos behind them.

There's a guy that has a space in a warehouse building out behind the airport. Its over near Spillanes Towing. When I went over there, there was one old dude working. He originally quoted me $60 a wheel for my 18" stock wheels, but it took him like a week and a half so he only charged me $50/wheel. I got them done in a flat black.
