My summer rims 16x7 six-spokes from a 2000 Impreza RS. I've run 205/50 and 205/55 on them. The RE-01Rs are 205/55.
It may be possible to use 225/50/16 on a 16x7 rim, but I don't care enough to find out.
The TS came stock with 15x6 steelies (dead sexy). I autocross in STS.

No, they usually only have 1 per month at NHMS. NHMS has a busy schedule during the summer/spring, they have all types of maintance training, drivers training, police drivers trainign and a shat load of other stuff in the lots the autoX

They give you a 101 on AutoXing, basically course layouts what each cone means, how to follow the courses, and basic driving on the course. I would recommend it if you have no idea with what you are doing.

Got a question about spectating. My uncle and I are looking to come down and watch. We were wondering if there is a price for spectators, and if so how much? Thanks in advance.
Robk0000
04-07-2009, 06:21 PM
free to watch, just gotta sign an insurance wavier incase you get hit by a car. :)
Also, you can come down to the start grid and hang out with the drivers and get a little more info if you do decide to race.

You HAVE to WORK if you dont race.....You can't just come on the track and watch, you must either work, or watch the races from outside the gates, which isn't that bad. You get a nice view and its right off of 106.

Time to renew memberships and pre-register for the first event!

04-15-2009, 11:04 AM
So if you Have to work in order to watch is there anything you have to do to volunteer? I looked over the website and such but I wasn't able to find anything. So my assumption is just show up and they will put you to work? My uncle and I are interested in checkin it out with hopes of eventually joining up! Thanks for the info guys.
mdungelman
04-18-2009, 11:41 AM
All you have to do is show up. You go up to the window and tell them that you are there for the SCCNH autocross event as a volunteer. You sign the waiver and proceed down to the parking area and walk over to the course setup. There's another waiver to sign for the club. The organizers will give you something to do. Probably work one heat (i.e. course worker, timing, start/finish, or grid line-up). After watching for a bit you'll be itching to race. Good times!
Bump for more interest!

Given the state of the economy the club will be making an effort to help the less fortunate. We will be collecting non-perishable food or everyday living items to donate them to a local food pantry. Items such as soup, mac & cheese mix, tuna fish, rice, instant potatoes, toilet paper, toothpaste, diapers would be appropriate. You will receive Dave Erb Trophy points for your contribution.
The Dave Erb trophy is given to the member who has contributed/participated the most during the year. Points are awarded for many club activities. Visit our Dave Erb Trophy web page for the details.
The events at Loudon will go to the Concord Community Action Area Center Food
Pantry. The Mt. Ascutney events will go to an similar food pantry in
the Claremont/Windsor area.

Good to see everyone out there. I was only running ~85% capacity in the morning, thinking that we would have at least 5 runs. Wrong. Took full advantage of the fun runs in the afternoon though. You're right Nate, I was bumping on the rev limiter twice...
Got a ride in the monster, and fulfilled a dream I've had since I was a teenager... :)

All I did was walk up to his windows during fun runs and offer to pay for a run if I could ride! He was a nice guy. He will probably be around, he bought a membership. Car he said was mostly stock powerwise but was running on Ohlins dampers. Felt great to be in, the RB26 is just smoooooooth and liner power (felt like it could go forever!) and the car had NO problem with rotation. Every bit as good as I imagined a GT-R to be!!

No he is just SM I think Nate. I wish I had pushed harder in the AM too. There was much more time to be had, but I think we all assume practice in the AM and push it in the Afternoon. Nate and I both could have shaved off 3-4 seconds I would imagine.

On my best run of the day I plowed both slaloms. Wicked bad on the second one giving me a horrible entry on the second slalom. On that sweeping RH after the two slaloms I plowed that corner. I was putting through that 90 degree box people kept smacking the cone in for the whole run too. Each time I was like damn it get on the throttle!
Oh well. In time we will all get better and be able to adapt to courses faster.
Not to mention we will learn our cars better and make them physically faster.

Eh, I did fine. 69.8 seconds on all-seasons. I don't think someone in the same car could've shaved 1.5 seconds off of my time. Not easily anyway. Maybe in a newer, hatchback, STi.
You should be proud that you've built such a fast WRX rather than compare yourself to an STi. Craig warned me about it. Speaking of which, how much did you put into that car?
EDIT: Not that I like making excuses for my performance, but it was my first time autocrossing in the car. I bought it last fall. My AutoX car before that was an '04 Infiniti G35 6MT Coupe. AWD understeers quite a bit compared to RWD.

I don't really compare myself to anyone to be honest. I try and compete with myself (and Matt) more than anyone when I am there. Just out to beat my last time, the last corner, etc. I estimate the car has prolly 5k or so into it since I bought it brand new at the end of 06. It doesn't look like most people's built cars, but that is more because I focus on driveability and performance, whereas most people worry about how their car looks. I love my car, its subtle look, and how it drives, which is really all that matters to me.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW! :D
Nate8409

I bet I could have shaved that time for you. Terry is very competitive and you should appreciate that. I personally say great that Terry puts the times down he does.
IF you knew anything about your car compared to a WRX you wouldn't be speaking like you are. I wont explain it to you Mr. STI.
How much did you pay for your car?

i dunno, i kinda lost intrest over the last year i would rather have an actual car dedicated for racing then abusing my subaru. Im sure i will take it out again, i just dont plan on going as often.

I think you're just mad because things keep breaking on your car.:)
Robk0000
08-08-2009, 09:47 PM
not really, considering i have all new parts now. lol, not much more to break.
I kinda just want to keep the car as is and just fix it up to make it like new. Rust spots and stuff like that. Im sure i will race it again, just not soon.

The way I see it, its only abuse if you don't know what you're doing. I haven't damaged my car negatively in any way at all. To have 80k and still a stock clutch, with two seasons under its belt, I am more than satisfied. Just get out there and clean the sand from you vagine!
And the cart...I'll believe it when I see it! :D
Robk0000
08-08-2009, 10:11 PM
im serious about the kart, once the boat goes the kart chassis is coming in.
i still owe your dad $40 for the inspection which i still havnt gotten... expired 3 months ago. lol

Losing interest can lead to expensive places: I went from autox -> hillclimbs + rallyx -> saving for a rally car :unamused:
Karts sound like a good (and much cheaper) alternative

No, you don't need to bother pre-registering unless you're already a member of SCCNH.
Members:$40 Non-Members:$50
Membership:$20
So it doesn't make any sense. Just get there a little early so you get on the list. I don't expect a huge turnout, especially if the weather is a little ****ty.

There is not better way to get used to it unless you start driving it in some type of competition.
Cones are the best place to practice driving it.
