Hey Guys,

I didn't know what you could tell me about the Exedy stage 2 cerametallic clutch. Im looking into an STI and The car has this clutch in it as of now and he says it chatters/pulses a little when letting out into a gear? Anyone has have this problem be for?

Thank you
-Dustin

it was probably improperly broken in.

it happens sometime when you have an heavy duty clutch in the car. Something you have to live with when you upgrade, most of the time. some people get lucky and don't have an issue, but most do.

How do you properly brake in a new clutch??

pretty much just don't launch it for the first 500 miles if you mostly drive around town. 1000 if you mostly drive highway. If you wanna go a little further with the break in process, don't give it much gas at all when you're starting out in first until the break-in period is up.

Heavy duty clutches will chatter

i've had two heavy duty clutches and neither of them have chattered. I think it has a ton to do with breaking it in properly as well as having the flywheel resurfaced when you switch clutches. I think a lot of people skip this step so it seems like the chatter is normal.

Ah Gotchya. What do you mean by Re-surfaced? No Ditch_bound has not sold this yet. Subarude.

by resurfaced i mean taken to an auto-parts store or machine shop and having it cut (a very thin layer is machined off the friction surface and mounts for the pressure plate) this ensures good break-in.
