so i was on my way to work yesterday and i had a real strong smell of gas on the way to work. so i get there and low and behold..yep u guessed it a gas leak. it was the rubber line under the intake hose on the passenger side. so off comes everything cause i cant get my screw driver to turn it enough to stop the leak. but its all fixed for 25 cents. lol and 2 hours of my time.

Blech, bet you're glad to have that fixed so quickly. Only cats going bad smells worse I think.

That's why you keep them in the freezer.

Nice, glad to hear it was fixed quickly! All subarus tend to rust out the gas filler tube, just for everyones information! It is very important (I was going to use pertinent, but we all know what happens when I do) to keep that thing clean, especially in the winter! My old man, who is a mechanic, says he sees those go bad all the time.

Ya didn't have a choice. Plus its what I do for a living. Just sucked to have all that off and not to be able to add like an sti upper intake or a silicon tube or something to make it worth my while.

I had the same issue at the beginning of the cold weather season last year. One of the two hoses/clamps was the same culprit on mine that was yours. There apears to be an onging issue with these hoses, especially in bugeyes, see the nasioc link below. Glad to hear it's fixed, but I agree last year, in the cold it was a rather unpleasant reapair that seems to be the result of crappy hose/clamps.
