Just wondering where you go (if you don't do it yourself) to have work done on your Subie? I know there's a lot of good shops in CT and MA, but I want to know of some RI shops.

i have had my car at Wildcards performance in hooksett and East coast swappers.
Both are amazing.
this is a shop that one of our friends (a fellow subie owner/tuner) is helping get going.
It’s still in its early stages but I think it would great if once they are up and running, we kick them some business…

thanks marc :)
That's my best friends shop. Hes a killer fabricator, can do all sorts of stuff. Done alot of work on hondas, but, for example the last month he was at his old shop he did some s2k clutches, did an ls1 swap in an rx7, tuned a pile of cars (turbo lotus elise, scca nationals s2k, etc etc)
Right now at the shop we are doing a full out build on a 90 Z32....building the motor, custom twin turbo kit, etc etc from start to finish.
Heres some pics of some previous stuff.

heres a quick extended tophat he banged out for me last year for my honda

aluminum catchcan he made for his all motor b17 crx
http://wickedinnovation.net/downest/catch%20can/DSC01118.JPG
custom shifter he makes for hondas
http://wickedinnovation.net/downest/shifter/shifter1.gif
etc etc, just for some examples. sometime shortly we are fabbing up an ewg stuff for a customer with a bugeye wagon.
RE: Jims Exhaust
the guy who actually made marcs exhaust is my old roomate and he no longer works there.....jim does good work but you have to stay on his ass and watch the bottom line :)

I need a shop to look over my car and toss some ideas at me. I totally know what I want but it would be nice to see what a professional would do to it. Something different at that, not say wrx swap it or something "common" like that.

The only thing impt to a good shop is what the customer wants. You could say 'i want an LS1 in it' and wed be happy to oblige :)
Assuming you are putting a subaru motor in it, and its a street car, I would imagine you are planning to put some sort of impreza motor in it. But from your post Im not so sure

I would like to do a N/A build using a EJ257 block or a H6 motor. I want to stay away from boost, simply put. I have a few tweaks I would like to do to the motors too but thats a whole different conversation.

if the new diesels were out i would have swapped the diesel motor in instead of the wrx motor, my 2 cents. maybe if you wait a little you can do that.

ha if i hit the lottery id buy a different car. when i took the EFI 101 class a few years back they had an all motor H6 at XX that we tuned on. it was pretty nasty for a non turbo impreza!
for the motor builders areound here, how about some VG30 forged internal porn

So we established that theres not many shops to choose from in RI. What about close by MA or CT? I've been to DSG before up in Norwood, they were cool guys. I want to check out ECS, anybody else fairly close?

Hey guys, I'm the one that owns the shop mentioned above (Wicked Innovation). Just became a Legacy owner yesterday, so you'll be seeing me around quite a bit with some... custom fab... on my wagon.

I'm definitely making a big roof rack that will hold all four wheels and tires so I can carry my mus/offroad wheels with me when I'm on street tires. The rack will have lights on all sides too, just in case. I also want to make a couple of skid plates and a brush guard thing to wrap up and around the front bumper and mount some lights on that too. Once I do the EJ20 swap everyting but the manifold will be made by me (uppipe, downpipe, exhaust).
man your "off road legy rex" is going to be bad A$$
