If you're looking for snows you might want to buy them soon.

As of NOV 15th all cars in Quebec are required to have snow tires.

I'm trying to find them for my car... the only ones available are running upwards of $150 each

My Blizzaks came in late last night. Had them mounted on my stock wheels today and will be bolting them on the car tomorrow.

It will be my first winter driving an AWD car with snow tires. I'm looking forward to it.

TPMS requires it?

who told you that, last i checked the tpms measures air pressure, wheather it be 1 gallon of air or 2 gallons of air the tire pressure would remain the same as long as the air it compressed into the same volume.

then again, if its one of those gay sensors that mount on the side of the inside it bay be close to the wheel wall, therefore requiring a wider tire.

Thinking of getting snow tires for the first time on one of my vehicles. The all seasons on my WRX aren't the greatest. I had some Michelin Hydroedge all seasons on my outback and they were great, but the stockers on the WRX like to break loose on these cold roads.

Stock 08 WRX size is 205/50/17

I was looking at Bridgestone Blizzak WS60s in 225/45/17s for my stock wheels.

I'd like others input before I bite the bullet. I would prefer snow/ice traction over wet/dry performance in the tire, and studless.

Looking for something relatively cheap, $90-$140 /tire range?

Thanks all,

E

TPMS requires proper tire inflation.

TPMS measures pressure period. When the pressure drops below a certain PSI which is something like a 25% loss over the recommended then the light illuminates. Simple as that. Nissan's turn on at like 24 or 25. Don't remember but it is 25% of the recommended range.

A larger tire with more volume is actually better in a case like this. The more volume the less the loss of air will effect overall pressure.

I'm on the 6th winter with my steelies and snows. Definitely a worthwhile investment.
