I am thinking of getting into some winter X this year with the Rex. Anyone else down? I know SCCNH does a couple events up at a farm in Maine, not sure of anywhere else. Anyone that is interested or knows of other places chime in so we can get a crew together!

Also, there ARE classes for FWD (Randy) both studded and non studded, AWD both studded and non, and RWD studded and non.

I think it would be sweet! Most courses I have seen have about 6 foot high snowbanks so thats all you have to worry about hitting. It doesnt look like speeds get too crazy so I wouldn't worry about damaging your car hitting a snowbank too fast.

Something about paying money to go sideways in the snow doesn't excite me

I thought you said you would be in Randy?!

Dan, you wont kill the car autoxing. I promise. Its not beating on the car as much as one would think. Ya, you rev high, but you do a lot I am sure on the highways and roads. you drive the car hard for two minutes for three sets. Then it breaks for a couple hours, then its back out for 3 more runs. Also, you can drive the car as hard as you want, its best to come to learn your cars and you limits first!

i'd need snow tires(required)... and at $160 a piece (the cheapest) I just can't afford them till tax time :(

If you remember last winter my car was a beast in the snow with just my stock tires.... so there really is no point for me to buy snows

I feel exactly the same way. Please keep my posted, I'd love to rip up some snow courses.

Yes, snow tires are on the Evo... however, it would more likely be wagon with snow tires ftw

I figured it would be the wagon.

You actually do have snow tires on the evo tho? I thought it was going to hide this winter!

I say we put the rotas from the evo on my STi, if I ever get it back, so I can see what it looks like. :)

Most sccnh races are at newfound lake. they require 16" of ice if i remember correctly.

I'd be interested in racing around on the snow. And hopefully we can get out on the lake this year to play.
