After going through three 2.0l blocks and building one of those up, I decided I wanted to go 2.5l after all.

Recap on previous 2.0l build:
The first few used 2.0l blocks were to f'ed up to build. The third block was in great condition and just had to get bored .020 over stock. I bought a set of Wiesco forged pistons and had them fit to the block. After I had all the pieces to make the block complete, I got a ride in a stage 2 STI and the low end torque was so much fun that it made me sell my 2.0l block and persue a 2.5l build.

I have a set of bare wrx heads that I bought a year ago that have been cleaned and checked for cracks, and they will be used for this build. I just landed a nice used 2.5l STI block for $400, but I need to travel a few hours to pick it up. It has no problems like spun bearings of broke ring lands, but I plan on tearing it down anyways to have it checked for cracks and machined. I am planning on using forged pistons and rods to handle 400-500 whp. Whether or not the block will last long at those power levels is a different matter.

For head work, I am not going crazy on porting or polishing, just a nice valve job with .5mm over valves. Cams have not been decided, but will be at least 272 duration. I'll post pics and updates along the way.

justice racing engines

also plan on spending 8-10k on a properly built block if you want it to last and make real world power, if you want a dyno queen a lesser build will do.

ps. im only at 400ish(uncorrected for air temp) on the mustang dyno at EFI logic

8-10k would buy a Cosworth long block! I plan on spending around 2-3k between the machine work and parts, heads included. I am doing my own assembly and tuning, which cuts a lot of cost.

what oil pump, head gaskets, pistons, rods, head studs?

my point is all this adds up big time. my last motor build had 1000 worth of misc. crap needed.

just reread the OP...ok, you dont care how long it lasts. this says you have money to burn so why not buy my new suspension for me? lol

I'd like to hear a chime in on this too. I want to know who people use/trust/hate. I want to have my EZ checked over and get a moderate P&P of the heads before putting the engine in the car. I also want to get the heads and timing cover painted off the block so yeah. I want gold but don't know which gold yet. Brembo,BBS, or Seirra?
